إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انشَقَّتْ |

[84:2] | Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat
| وأذنت لربها وحقت
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ |

| Yusuf Ali | And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);-

| Words | |وأذنت - And has listened| لربها - to its Lord| وحقت - and was obligated,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اپنے رب کا حکمِ (اِنشقاق) بجا لائیں گے اور (یہی تعمیلِ اَمر) اُس کے لائق ہے، |

[84:3] | Wa-itha al-ardu muddat
| وإذا الأرض مدت
وَإِذَا الْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ |

| Yusuf Ali | And when the earth is flattened out,
|
| Words | |وإذا - And when| الأرض - the earth| مدت - is spread,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب زمین (ریزہ ریزہ کر کے) پھیلا دی جائے گی، |

[84:4] | Waalqat ma feeha watakhallat
| وألقت ما فيها وتخلت
وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ |

| Yusuf Ali | And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty,
|
| Words | |وألقت - And has cast out| ما - what| فيها - (is) in it| وتخلت - and becomes empty,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو کچھ اس کے اندر ہے وہ اسے نکال باہر پھینکے گی اور خالی ہو جائے گی، |

[84:5] | Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat
| وأذنت لربها وحقت
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ |

| Yusuf Ali | And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality).

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (وہ بھی) اپنے رب کا حکمِ (اِنشقاق) بجا لائے گی اور (یہی اِطاعت) اُس کے لائق ہے، |

[84:6] | Ya ayyuha al-insanuinnaka kadihun ila rabbika kadhanfamulaqeehi
| يا أيها الإنسان إنك كادح إلى ربك كدحا فملاقيه
يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَى رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقِيهِ |

| Yusuf Ali | O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him.
|
| Words | |يا - O| أيها - O| الإنسان - mankind!| إنك - Indeed, you| كادح - (are) laboring| إلى - to| ربك - your Lord| كدحا - (with) exertion| فملاقيه - and you (will) meet Him.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اے انسان! تو اپنے رب تک پہنچنے میں سخت مشقتیں برداشت کرتا ہے بالآخر تجھے اسی سے جا ملنا ہے، |

[84:7] | Faama man ootiya kitabahubiyameenihi
| فأما من أوتي كتابه بيمينه
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ |

| Yusuf Ali | Then he who is given his Record in his right hand,
|
| Words | |فأما - Then as for| من - (him) who| أوتي - is given| كتابه - his record| بيمينه - in his right (hand),| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس جس شخص کا نامۂ اعمال اس کے داہنے ہاتھ میں دیا جائے گا، |

[84:8] | Fasawfa yuhasabu hisabanyaseeran
| فسوف يحاسب حسابا يسيرا
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا |

| Yusuf Ali | Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning,
|
| Words | |فسوف - Then soon| يحاسب - his account will be taken| حسابا - an account,| يسيرا - easy,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو عنقریب اس سے آسان سا حساب لیا جائے گا، |

[84:9] | Wayanqalibu ila ahlihi masrooran
| وينقلب إلى أهله مسرورا
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا |

| Yusuf Ali | And he will turn to his people, rejoicing!
|
| Words | |وينقلب - And he will return| إلى - to| أهله - his people| مسرورا - happily.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور وہ اپنے اہلِ خانہ کی طرف مسرور و شاداں پلٹے گا، |

[84:10] | Waamma man ootiya kitabahu waraathahrihi
| وأما من أوتي كتابه وراء ظهره
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِ |

| Yusuf Ali | But he who is given his Record behind his back,-
|
| Words | |وأما - But as for| من - (him) who| أوتي - is given| كتابه - his record| وراء - behind| ظهره - his back,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور البتہ وہ شخص جس کا نامۂ اعمال اس کی پیٹھ کے پیچھے سے دیا جائے گا، |

[84:11] | Fasawfa yadAAoo thubooran
| فسوف يدعو ثبورا
فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُواْ ثُبُورًا |

| Yusuf Ali | Soon will he cry for perdition,
|
| Words | |فسوف - Then soon| يدعو - he will call| ثبورا - (for) destruction,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو وہ عنقریب موت کو پکارے گا، |

[84:12] | Wayasla saAAeeran
| ويصلى سعيرا
وَيَصْلَى سَعِيرًا |

| Yusuf Ali | And he will enter a Blazing Fire.
|
| Words | |ويصلى - And he will burn| سعيرا - (in) a Blaze.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور وہ دوزخ کی بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ میں داخل ہوگا، |

[84:13] | Innahu kana fee ahlihi masrooran
| إنه كان في أهله مسرورا
إِنَّهُ كَانَ فِي أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا |

| Yusuf Ali | Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing!

| Words | |إنه - Indeed, he| كان - had been| في - among| أهله - his people| مسرورا - happy,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک وہ (دنیا میں) اپنے اہلِ خانہ میں خوش و خرم رہتا تھا، |

[84:14] | Innahu thanna an lan yahoora
| إنه ظن أن لن يحور
إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ |

| Yusuf Ali | Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)!
|
| Words | |إنه - Indeed, he| ظن - (had) thought| أن - that| لن - never| يحور - he would return.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک اس نے یہ گمان کر لیا تھا کہ وہ حساب کے لئے (اللہ کے پاس) ہرگز لوٹ کر نہ جائے گا، |

[84:15] | Bala inna rabbahu kana bihi baseeran
| بلى إن ربه كان به بصيرا
بَلَى إِنَّ رَبَّهُ كَانَ بِهِ بَصِيرًا |

| Yusuf Ali | Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him!
|
| Words | |بلى - Yes!| إن - Indeed,| ربه - his Lord| كان - was| به - of him| بصيرا - All-Seer.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیوں نہیں! بیشک اس کا رب اس کو خوب دیکھنے والا ہے، |

[84:16] | Fala oqsimu bialshshafaqi
| فلا أقسم بالشفق
فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ |

| Yusuf Ali | So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset;
|
| Words | |فلا - But nay!| أقسم - I swear| بالشفق - by the twilight glow,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو مجھے قَسم ہے شفق (یعنی شام کی سرخی یا اس کے بعد کے اُجالے) کی، |

[84:17] | Waallayli wama wasaqa
| والليل وما وسق
وَاللَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ |

| Yusuf Ali | The Night and its Homing;
|
| Words | |والليل - And the night| وما - and what| وسق - it envelops,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور رات کی اور ان چیزوں کی جنہیں وہ (اپنے دامن میں) سمیٹ لیتی ہے، |

[84:18] | Waalqamari itha ittasaqa
| والقمر إذا اتسق
وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ |

| Yusuf Ali | And the Moon in her fullness:

| Words | |والقمر - And the moon| إذا - when| اتسق - it becomes full,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور چاند کی جب وہ پورا دکھائی دیتا ہے، |

[84:19] | Latarkabunna tabaqan AAan tabaqin
| لتركبن طبقا عن طبق
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ |

| Yusuf Ali | Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage.
|
| Words | |لتركبن - You will surely embark| طبقا - (to) stage| عن - from| طبق - stage.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | تم یقیناً طبق در طبق ضرور سواری کرتے ہوئے جاؤ گے، |
20.
[84:20] | Fama lahum la yu/minoona
| فما لهم لا يؤمنون
فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?-
|
| Words | |فما - So what| لهم - (is) for them| لا - not| يؤمنون - they believe,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو انہیں کیا ہو گیا ہے کہ (قرآنی پیشین گوئی کی صداقت دیکھ کر بھی) ایمان نہیں لاتے، |

[84:21] | Wa-itha quri-a AAalayhimu alqur-anula yasjudoona
| وإذا قرئ عليهم القرآن لا يسجدون
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْآنُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ |
|---|
| Yusuf Ali | And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate,
|
| Words | |وإذا - And when| قرئ - is recited| عليهم - to them| القرآن - the Quran,| لا - not| يسجدون - they prostrate?| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب ان پر قرآن پڑھا جاتا ہے تو (اللہ کے حضور) سجدہ ریز نہیں ہوتے، |
22.
[84:22] | Bali allatheena kafaroo yukaththiboona
| بل الذين كفروا يكذبون
بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُكَذِّبُونَ |
|---|
| Yusuf Ali | But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it).
|
| Words | |بل - Nay!| الذين - Those who| كفروا - disbelieved| يكذبون - deny,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | بلکہ کافر لوگ (اسے مزید) جھٹلا رہے ہیں، |
23.
[84:23] | WaAllahu aAAlamu bimayooAAoona
| والله أعلم بما يوعون
وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts)
|
| Words | |والله - And Allah| أعلم - (is) most knowing| بما - of what| يوعون - they keep within themselves| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ (کفر و عداوت کے اس سامان کو) خوب جانتا ہے جو وہ جمع کر رہے ہیں، |

[84:24] | Fabashshirhum biAAathabin aleemin
| فبشرهم بعذاب أليم
فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ |

| Yusuf Ali | So announce to them a Penalty Grievous,
|
| Words | |فبشرهم - so give them tidings| بعذاب - of a punishment| أليم - painful,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو آپ انہیں دردناک عذاب کی بشارت دے دیں، |
25.
[84:25] | Illa allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo alssalihati lahum ajrun ghayrumamnoonin
| إلا الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات لهم أجر غير ممنون
إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ |
|---|
| Yusuf Ali | Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail.
|
| Words | |إلا - Except| الذين - those who| آمنوا - believe| وعملوا - and do| الصالحات - righteous deeds.| لهم - For them| أجر - (is) a reward| غير - never| ممنون - ending.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | مگر جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے ہیں ان کے لئے غیر منقطع (دائمی) ثواب ہے، |
