| رب السماوات والأرض وما بينهما إن كنتم موقنين
رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all between them, if ye (but) have an assured faith.

[44:8] | La ilaha illa huwa yuhyeewayumeetu rabbukum warabbu aba-ikumu al-awwaleena
| لا إله إلا هو يحيي ويميت ربكم ورب آبائكم الأولين
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ آبَائِكُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | There is no god but He: It is He Who gives life and gives death,- The Lord and Cherisher to you and your earliest ancestors.

| بل هم في شك يلعبون
بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ |

| فارتقب يوم تأتي السماء بدخان مبين
فَارْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِي السَّمَاءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ |

| Yusuf Ali | Then watch thou for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke (or mist) plainly visible,

| يغشى الناس هذا عذاب أليم
يَغْشَى النَّاسَ هَذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | Enveloping the people: this will be a Penalty Grievous.

[44:12] | Rabbana ikshif AAanna alAAathabainna mu/minoona
| ربنا اكشف عنا العذاب إنا مؤمنون
رَبَّنَا اكْشِفْ عَنَّا الْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | (They will say:) "Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us, for we do really believe!"

| Words | |ربنا - "Our Lord!| اكشف - Remove| عنا - from us| العذاب - the punishment;| إنا - indeed, we| مؤمنون - (are) believers."| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اس وقت کہیں گے:) اے ہمارے رب! تو ہم سے (اس) عذاب کو دور کر دے، بیشک ہم ایمان لاتے ہیں، |

[44:13] | Anna lahumu alththikrawaqad jaahum rasoolun mubeenun
| أنى لهم الذكرى وقد جاءهم رسول مبين
أَنَّى لَهُمُ الذِّكْرَى وَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | How shall the message be (effectual) for them, seeing that an Messenger explaining things clearly has (already) come to them,-
|
| Words | |أنى - How can| لهم - (there be) for them| الذكرى - the reminder,| وقد - when verily,| جاءهم - had come to them| رسول - a Messenger| مبين - clear.| |

[44:14] | Thumma tawallaw AAanhu waqaloomuAAallamun majnoonun
| ثم تولوا عنه وقالوا معلم مجنون
ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | Yet they turn away from him and say: "Tutored (by others), a man possessed!"

| Words | |ثم - Then| تولوا - they turned away| عنه - from him| وقالوا - and said,| معلم - "One taught,| مجنون - a mad man."| |

[44:15] | Inna kashifoo alAAathabiqaleelan innakum AAa-idoona
| إنا كاشفو العذاب قليلا إنكم عائدون
إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا الْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُمْ عَائِدُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | We shall indeed remove the Penalty for a while, (but) truly ye will revert (to your ways).

[44:16] | Yawma nabtishu albatshataalkubra inna muntaqimoona
| يوم نبطش البطشة الكبرى إنا منتقمون
يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ الْبَطْشَةَ الْكُبْرَى إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | One day We shall seize you with a mighty onslaught: We will indeed (then) exact Retribution!

| Words | |يوم - (The) Day| نبطش - We will seize| البطشة - (with) the seizure| الكبرى - the greatest,| إنا - indeed, We| منتقمون - (will) take retribution.| |

[44:17] | Walaqad fatanna qablahum qawmafirAAawna wajaahum rasoolun kareemun
| ولقد فتنا قبلهم قوم فرعون وجاءهم رسول كريم
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | We did, before them, try the people of Pharaoh: there came to them a messenger most honourable,
|
| Words | |ولقد - And certainly,| فتنا - We tried| قبلهم - before them| قوم - (the) people| فرعون - (of) Firaun,| وجاءهم - and came to them| رسول - a Messenger| كريم - noble.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور در حقیقت ہم نے اِن سے پہلے قومِ فرعون کی (بھی) آزمائش کی تھی اور اُن کے پاس بزرگی والے رسول (موسٰی علیہ السلام) آئے تھے، |

[44:18] | An addoo ilayya AAibada Allahiinnee lakum rasoolun ameenun
| أن أدوا إلي عباد الله إني لكم رسول أمين
أَنْ أَدُّوا إِلَيَّ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | Saying: "Restore to me the Servants of Allah: I am to you an messenger worthy of all trust;
|
| Words | |أن - That,| أدوا - "Deliver| إلي - to me| عباد - (the) servants| الله - (of) Allah.| إني - Indeed, I am| لكم - to you| رسول - a Messenger| أمين - trustworthy.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | (انہوں نے کہا تھا) کہ تم بندگانِ خدا (یعنی بنی اسرائیل) کو میرے حوالے کر دو، بیشک میں تمہاری قیادت و رہبری کے لئے امانت دار رسول ہوں، |

[44:19] | Waan la taAAloo AAala Allahiinnee ateekum bisultanin mubeenin
| وأن لا تعلوا على الله إني آتيكم بسلطان مبين
وَأَنْ لَّا تَعْلُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ إِنِّي آتِيكُم بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ |
|---|
| Yusuf Ali | "And be not arrogant as against Allah: for I come to you with authority manifest.
|
| Words | |وأن - And that| لا - (do) not| تعلوا - exalt yourselves| على - against| الله - Allah.| إني - Indeed, I| آتيكم - [I] have come to you| بسلطان - with an authority| مبين - clear.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور یہ کہ اللہ کے مقابلے میں سرکشی نہ کرو، میں تمہارے پاس روشن دلیل لے کر آیا ہوں، |

[44:20] | Wa-innee AAuthtu birabbee warabbikuman tarjumooni
| وإني عذت بربي وربكم أن ترجمون
وَإِنِّي عُذْتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ |

| Yusuf Ali | "For me, I have sought safety with my Lord and your Lord, against your injuring me.
|
| Words | |وإني - And indeed, I| عذت - [I] seek refuge| بربي - with my Lord| وربكم - and your Lord| أن - lest| ترجمون - you stone me.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک میں نے اپنے رب اور تمہارے رب کی پناہ لے لی ہے اس سے کہ تم مجھے سنگ سار کرو، |

[44:21] | Wa-in lam tu/minoo lee faiAAtazilooni
| وإن لم تؤمنوا لي فاعتزلون
وَإِنْ لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا لِي فَاعْتَزِلُونِ |

| Yusuf Ali | "If ye believe me not, at least keep yourselves away from me."
|
| Words | |وإن - And if| لم - not| تؤمنوا - you believe| لي - me,| فاعتزلون - then leave me alone."| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اگر تم مجھ پر ایمان نہیں لاتے تو مجھ سے کنارہ کش ہو جاؤ، |

[44:22] | FadaAAa rabbahu anna haola-iqawmun mujrimoona
| فدعا ربه أن هؤلاء قوم مجرمون
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | (But they were aggressive:) then he cried to his Lord: "These are indeed a people given to sin."

| Words | |فدعا - So he called| ربه - his Lord,| أن - "That| هؤلاء - these| قوم - (are) a people| مجرمون - criminals."| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر انہوں نے اپنے رب سے دعا کی کہ بیشک یہ لوگ مجرم قوم ہیں، |

[44:23] | Faasri biAAibadee laylan innakummuttabaAAoona
| فأسر بعبادي ليلا إنكم متبعون
فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِي لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | (The reply came:) "March forth with My Servants by night: for ye are sure to be pursued.
|
| Words | |فأسر - Then "Set out| بعبادي - with My slaves| ليلا - (by) night.| إنكم - Indeed, you| متبعون - (will be) followed.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | (ارشاد ہوا:) پھر تم میرے بندوں کو راتوں رات لے کر چلے جاؤ بیشک تمہارا تعاقب کیا جائے گا، |

[44:24] | Waotruki albahra rahwaninnahum jundun mughraqoona
| واترك البحر رهوا إنهم جند مغرقون
وَاتْرُكِ الْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | "And leave the sea as a furrow (divided): for they are a host (destined) to be drowned."

| Words | |واترك - And leave| البحر - the sea| رهوا - at rest.| إنهم - Indeed, they| جند - (are) an army| مغرقون - (to be) drowned."| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (خود گزر جانے کے بعد) دریا کو ساکن اور کھلا چھوڑ دینا، بیشک وہ ایسا لشکر ہے جسے ڈبو دیا جائے گا، |

[44:25] | Kam tarakoo min jannatin waAAuyoonin
| كم تركوا من جنات وعيون
كَمْ تَرَكُوا مِن جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ |

| Yusuf Ali | How many were the gardens and springs they left behind,

| وزروع ومقام كريم
وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ |

| Yusuf Ali | And corn-fields and noble buildings,

[44:27] | WanaAAmatin kanoo feeha fakiheena
| ونعمة كانوا فيها فاكهين
وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا فِيهَا فَاكِهِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | And wealth (and conveniences of life), wherein they had taken such delight!

[44:28] | Kathalika waawrathnahaqawman akhareena
| كذلك وأورثناها قوما آخرين
كَذَلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَاهَا قَوْمًا آخَرِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | Thus (was their end)! And We made other people inherit (those things)!

[44:29] | Fama bakat AAalayhimu alssamaowaal-ardu wama kanoo munthareena
| فما بكت عليهم السماء والأرض وما كانوا منظرين
فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّمَاءُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا مُنظَرِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | And neither heaven nor earth shed a tear over them: nor were they given a respite (again).
|
| Words | |فما - And not| بكت - wept| عليهم - for them| السماء - the heaven| والأرض - and the earth| وما - and not| كانوا - they were| منظرين - given respite.| |

[44:30] | Walaqad najjayna banee isra-eelamina alAAathabi almuheeni
| ولقد نجينا بني إسرائيل من العذاب المهين
وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ الْمُهِينِ |

| Yusuf Ali | We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment,

| Words | |ولقد - And certainly,| نجينا - We saved| بني - (the) Children of Israel| إسرائيل - (the) Children of Israel| من - from| العذاب - the punishment| المهين - the humiliating,| |
