كَذَلِكَ يُوحِي إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكَ اللَّهُ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ |

لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ |

| تكاد السماوات يتفطرن من فوقهن والملائكة يسبحون بحمد ربهم ويستغفرون لمن في الأرض ألا إن الله هو الغفور الرحيم
تَكَادُ السَّمَاوَاتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِن فَوْقِهِنَّ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ أَلَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ |

| Yusuf Ali | The heavens are almost rent asunder from above them (by Him Glory): and the angels celebrate the Praises of their Lord, and pray for forgiveness for (all) beings on earth: Behold! Verily Allah is He, the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[42:6] | Waallatheena ittakhathoomin doonihi awliyaa Allahu hafeethunAAalayhim wama anta AAalayhim biwakeelin
| والذين اتخذوا من دونه أولياء الله حفيظ عليهم وما أنت عليهم بوكيل
وَالَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ أَولِيَاءَ اللَّهُ حَفِيظٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَمَا أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِوَكِيلٍ |

| Yusuf Ali | And those who take as protectors others besides Him,- Allah doth watch over them; and thou art not the disposer of their affairs.

| وكذلك أوحينا إليك قرآنا عربيا لتنذر أم القرى ومن حولها وتنذر يوم الجمع لا ريب فيه فريق في الجنة وفريق في السعير
وَكَذَلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّتُنذِرَ أُمَّ الْقُرَى وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَتُنذِرَ يَوْمَ الْجَمْعِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ فَرِيقٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَفَرِيقٌ فِي السَّعِيرِ |

| Yusuf Ali | Thus have We sent by inspiration to thee an Arabic Qur'an: that thou mayest warn the Mother of Cities and all around her,- and warn (them) of the Day of Assembly, of which there is no doubt: (when) some will be in the Garden, and some in the Blazing Fire.

[42:8] | Walaw shaa Allahu lajaAAalahumommatan wahidatan walakin yudkhilu man yashaofee rahmatihi waalththalimoonama lahum min waliyyin wala naseerin
| ولو شاء الله لجعلهم أمة واحدة ولكن يدخل من يشاء في رحمته والظالمون ما لهم من ولي ولا نصير
وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَجَعَلَهُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلَكِن يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَاءُ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ وَالظَّالِمُونَ مَا لَهُم مِّن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ |

| Yusuf Ali | If Allah had so willed, He could have made them a single people; but He admits whom He will to His Mercy; and the Wrong-doers will have no protector nor helper.

[42:9] | Ami ittakhathoo min doonihi awliyaafaAllahu huwa alwaliyyu wahuwa yuhyee almawtawahuwa AAala kulli shay-in qadeerun
| أم اتخذوا من دونه أولياء فالله هو الولي وهو يحيي الموتى وهو على كل شيء قدير
أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ فَاللَّهُ هُوَ الْوَلِيُّ وَهُوَ يُحْيِي المَوْتَى وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | What! Have they taken (for worship) protectors besides Him? But it is Allah,- He is the Protector, and it is He Who gives life to the dead: It is He Who has power over all things,

[42:10] | Wama ikhtalaftum feehi min shay-in fahukmuhuila Allahi thalikumu Allahu rabbeeAAalayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi oneebu
| وما اختلفتم فيه من شيء فحكمه إلى الله ذلكم الله ربي عليه توكلت وإليه أنيب
وَمَا اخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِيهِ مِن شَيْءٍ فَحُكْمُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ ذَلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبِّي عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ |

| Yusuf Ali | Whatever it be wherein ye differ, the decision thereof is with Allah: such is Allah my Lord: In Him I trust, and to Him I turn.

[42:11] | Fatiru alssamawatiwaal-ardi jaAAala lakum min anfusikum azwajanwamina al-anAAami azwajan yathraokum feehilaysa kamithlihi shay-on wahuwa alssameeAAu albaseeru
| فاطر السماوات والأرض جعل لكم من أنفسكم أزواجا ومن الأنعام أزواجا يذرؤكم فيه ليس كمثله شيء وهو السميع البصير
فَاطِرُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَمِنَ الْأَنْعَامِ أَزْوَاجًا يَذْرَؤُكُمْ فِيهِ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ البَصِيرُ |

| Yusuf Ali | (He is) the Creator of the heavens and the earth: He has made for you pairs from among yourselves, and pairs among cattle: by this means does He multiply you: there is nothing whatever like unto Him, and He is the One that hears and sees (all things).

| له مقاليد السماوات والأرض يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء ويقدر إنه بكل شيء عليم
لَهُ مَقَالِيدُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ إِنَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth: He enlarges and restricts. The Sustenance to whom He will: for He knows full well all things.

[42:13] | SharaAAa lakum mina alddeeni mawassa bihi noohan waallathee awhaynailayka wama wassayna bihi ibraheemawamoosa waAAeesa an aqeemoo alddeena walatatafarraqoo feehi kabura AAala almushrikeena matadAAoohum ilayhi Allahu yajtabee ilayhi man yashaowayahdee ilayhi man yuneebu
| شرع لكم من الدين ما وصى به نوحا والذي أوحينا إليك وما وصينا به إبراهيم وموسى وعيسى أن أقيموا الدين ولا تتفرقوا فيه كبر على المشركين ما تدعوهم إليه الله يجتبي إليه من يشاء ويهدي إليه من ينيب
شَرَعَ لَكُم مِّنَ الدِّينِ مَا وَصَّى بِهِ نُوحًا وَالَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ وَمَا وَصَّيْنَا بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى وَعِيسَى أَنْ أَقِيمُوا الدِّينَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُوا فِيهِ كَبُرَ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ مَا تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَيْهِ اللَّهُ يَجْتَبِي إِلَيْهِ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي إِلَيْهِ مَن يُنِيبُ |

| Yusuf Ali | The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah - the which We have sent by inspiration to thee - and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that ye should remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest them. Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).

| Tahir ul Qadri | اُس نے تمہارے لئے دین کا وہی راستہ مقرّر فرمایا جس کا حکم اُس نے نُوح (علیہ السلام) کو دیا تھا اور جس کی وحی ہم نے آپ کی طرف بھیجی اور جس کا حکم ہم نے ابراھیم اور موسٰی و عیسٰی (علیھم السلام) کو دیا تھا (وہ یہی ہے) کہ تم (اِسی) دین پر قائم رہو اور اس میں تفرقہ نہ ڈالو، مشرکوں پر بہت ہی گراں ہے وہ (توحید کی بات) جس کی طرف آپ انہیں بلا رہے ہیں۔ اللہ جسے (خود) چاہتا ہے اپنے حضور میں (قربِ خاص کے لئے) منتخب فرما لیتا ہے، اور اپنی طرف (آنے کی) راہ دکھا دیتا ہے (ہر) اس شخص کو جو (اللہ کی طرف) قلبی رجوع کرتا ہے، |

[42:14] | Wama tafarraqoo illa minbaAAdi ma jaahumu alAAilmu baghyan baynahum walawlakalimatun sabaqat min rabbika ila ajalin musamman laqudiyabaynahum wa-inna allatheena oorithoo alkitaba minbaAAdihim lafee shakkin minhu mureebin
| وما تفرقوا إلا من بعد ما جاءهم العلم بغيا بينهم ولولا كلمة سبقت من ربك إلى أجل مسمى لقضي بينهم وإن الذين أورثوا الكتاب من بعدهم لفي شك منه مريب
وَمَا تَفَرَّقُوا إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى لَّقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ أُورِثُوا الْكِتَابَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيبٍ |

| Yusuf Ali | And they became divided only after Knowledge reached them,- through selfish envy as between themselves. Had it not been for a Word that went forth before from thy Lord, (tending) to a Term appointed, the matter would have been settled between them: But truly those who have inherited the Book after them are in suspicious (disquieting) doubt concerning it.

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور انہوں نے فرقہ بندی نہیں کی تھی مگر اِس کے بعد جبکہ اُن کے پاس علم آچکا تھا محض آپس کی ضِد (اور ہٹ دھرمی) کی وجہ سے، اور اگر آپ کے رب کی جانب سے مقررہ مدّت تک (کی مہلت) کا فرمان پہلے صادر نہ ہوا ہوتا تو اُن کے درمیان فیصلہ کیا جا چکا ہوتا، اور بیشک جو لوگ اُن کے بعد کتاب کے وارث بنائے گئے تھے وہ خود اُس کی نسبت فریب دینے والے شک میں (مبتلا) ہیں، |

[42:15] | Falithalika faodAAu waistaqimkama omirta wala tattabiAA ahwaahum waqul amantubima anzala Allahu min kitabin waomirtuli-aAAdila baynakum Allahu rabbuna warabbukum lanaaAAmaluna walakum aAAmalukum la hujjatabaynana wabaynakumu Allahu yajmaAAu baynanawa-ilayhi almaseeru
| فلذلك فادع واستقم كما أمرت ولا تتبع أهواءهم وقل آمنت بما أنزل الله من كتاب وأمرت لأعدل بينكم الله ربنا وربكم لنا أعمالنا ولكم أعمالكم لا حجة بيننا وبينكم الله يجمع بيننا وإليه المصير
فَلِذَلِكَ فَادْعُ وَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَا أُمِرْتَ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ وَقُلْ آمَنتُ بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ مِن كِتَابٍ وَأُمِرْتُ لِأَعْدِلَ بَيْنَكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمْ لَنَا أَعْمَالُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَالُكُمْ لَا حُجَّةَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ اللَّهُ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُ |

| Yusuf Ali | Now then, for that (reason), call (them to the Faith), and stand steadfast as thou art commanded, nor follow thou their vain desires; but say: "I believe in the Book which Allah has sent down; and I am commanded to judge justly between you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord: for us (is the responsibility for) our deeds, and for you for your deeds. There is no contention between us and you. Allah will bring us together, and to Him is (our) Final Goal.

| Words | |فلذلك - So to that| فادع - then invite,| واستقم - and stand firm| كما - as| أمرت - you are commanded| ولا - and (do) not| تتبع - follow| أهواءهم - their desires,| وقل - but say,| آمنت - "I believe| بما - in what| أنزل - Allah has sent down| الله - Allah has sent down| من - of| كتاب - (the) Book,| وأمرت - and I am commanded| لأعدل - that I do justice| بينكم - between you.| الله - Allah| ربنا - (is) our Lord| وربكم - and your Lord.| لنا - For us| أعمالنا - our deeds| ولكم - and for you| أعمالكم - your deeds.| لا - (There is) no| حجة - argument| بيننا - between us| وبينكم - and between you.| الله - Allah| يجمع - will assemble| بيننا - [between] us,| وإليه - and to Him| المصير - (is) the final return."| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس آپ اسی (دین) کے لئے دعوت دیتے رہیں اور جیسے آپ کو حکم دیا گیا ہے (اسی پر) قائم رہئے اور اُن کی خواہشات پر کان نہ دھریئے، اور (یہ) فرما دیجئے: جو کتاب بھی اللہ نے اتاری ہے میں اُس پر ایمان رکھتا ہوں، اور مجھے حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ میں تمہارے درمیان عدل و انصاف کروں۔ اللہ ہمارا (بھی) رب ہے اور تمہارا (بھی) رب ہے، ہمارے لئے ہمارے اعمال ہیں اور تمہارے لئے تمہارے اعمال، ہمارے اور تمہارے درمیان کوئی بحث و تکرار نہیں، اللہ ہم سب کو جمع فرمائے گا اور اسی کی طرف (سب کا) پلٹنا ہے، |

[42:16] | Waallatheena yuhajjoonafee Allahi min baAAdi ma istujeeba lahu hujjatuhumdahidatun AAinda rabbihim waAAalayhim ghadabunwalahum AAathabun shadeedun
| والذين يحاجون في الله من بعد ما استجيب له حجتهم داحضة عند ربهم وعليهم غضب ولهم عذاب شديد
وَالَّذِينَ يُحَاجُّونَ فِي اللَّهِ مِن بَعْدِ مَا اسْتُجِيبَ لَهُ حُجَّتُهُمْ دَاحِضَةٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | But those who dispute concerning Allah after He has been accepted,- futile is their dispute in the Sight of their Lord: on them will be a Penalty terrible.

[42:17] | Allahu allathee anzala alkitababialhaqqi waalmeezani wamayudreeka laAAalla alssaAAata qareebun
| الله الذي أنزل الكتاب بالحق والميزان وما يدريك لعل الساعة قريب
اللَّهُ الَّذِي أَنزَلَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ وَالْمِيزَانَ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّ السَّاعَةَ قَرِيبٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | It is Allah Who has sent down the Book in Truth, and the Balance (by which to weigh conduct). And what will make thee realise that perhaps the Hour is close at hand?

[42:18] | YastaAAjilu biha allatheena layu/minoona biha waallatheena amanoomushfiqoona minha wayaAAlamoona annaha alhaqquala inna allatheena yumaroona fee alssaAAatilafee dalalin baAAeedin
| يستعجل بها الذين لا يؤمنون بها والذين آمنوا مشفقون منها ويعلمون أنها الحق ألا إن الذين يمارون في الساعة لفي ضلال بعيد
يَسْتَعْجِلُ بِهَا الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهَا وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مُشْفِقُونَ مِنْهَا وَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهَا الْحَقُّ أَلَا إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُمَارُونَ فِي السَّاعَةِ لَفِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍ |

| Yusuf Ali | Only those wish to hasten it who believe not in it: those who believe hold it in awe, and know that it is the Truth. Behold, verily those that dispute concerning the Hour are far astray.

[42:19] | Allahu lateefun biAAibadihiyarzuqu man yashao wahuwa alqawiyyu alAAazeezu
| الله لطيف بعباده يرزق من يشاء وهو القوي العزيز
اللَّهُ لَطِيفٌ بِعِبَادِهِ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَهُوَ الْقَوِيُّ العَزِيزُ |

| Yusuf Ali | Gracious is Allah to His servants: He gives Sustenance to whom He pleases: and He has power and can carry out His Will.

[42:20] | Man kana yureedu hartha al-akhiratinazid lahu fee harthihi waman kana yureedu harthaalddunya nu/tihi minha wama lahu feeal-akhirati min naseebin
| من كان يريد حرث الآخرة نزد له في حرثه ومن كان يريد حرث الدنيا نؤته منها وما له في الآخرة من نصيب
مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ الْآخِرَةِ نَزِدْ لَهُ فِي حَرْثِهِ وَمَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ الدُّنْيَا نُؤتِهِ مِنْهَا وَمَا لَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِن نَّصِيبٍ |

| Yusuf Ali | To any that desires the tilth of the Hereafter, We give increase in his tilth, and to any that desires the tilth of this world, We grant somewhat thereof, but he has no share or lot in the Hereafter.

[42:21] | Am lahum shurakao sharaAAoo lahummina alddeeni ma lam ya/than bihi Allahuwalawla kalimatu alfasli laqudiya baynahumwa-inna alththalimeena lahum AAathabunaleemun
| أم لهم شركاء شرعوا لهم من الدين ما لم يأذن به الله ولولا كلمة الفصل لقضي بينهم وإن الظالمين لهم عذاب أليم
أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَاءُ شَرَعُوا لَهُم مِّنَ الدِّينِ مَا لَمْ يَأْذَن بِهِ اللَّهُ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةُ الْفَصْلِ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَإِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | What! have they partners (in godhead), who have established for them some religion without the permission of Allah? Had it not been for the Decree of Judgment, the matter would have been decided between them (at once). But verily the Wrong-doers will have a grievous Penalty.

[42:22] | Tara alththalimeenamushfiqeena mimma kasaboo wahuwa waqiAAun bihim waallatheenaamanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati fee rawdatialjannati lahum ma yashaoona AAinda rabbihimthalika huwa alfadlu alkabeeru
| ترى الظالمين مشفقين مما كسبوا وهو واقع بهم والذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات في روضات الجنات لهم ما يشاءون عند ربهم ذلك هو الفضل الكبير
تَرَى الظَّالِمِينَ مُشْفِقِينَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا وَهُوَ وَاقِعٌ بِهِمْ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فِي رَوْضَاتِ الْجَنَّاتِ لَهُم مَّا يَشَاؤُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَضْلُ الكَبِيرُ |

| Yusuf Ali | Thou wilt see the Wrong-doers in fear on account of what they have earned, and (the burden of) that must (necessarily) fall on them. But those who believe and work righteous deeds will be in the luxuriant meads of the Gardens: they shall have, before their Lord, all that they wish for. That will indeed be the magnificent Bounty (of Allah).

| Tahir ul Qadri | آپ ظالموں کو اُن (اعمال) سے ڈرنے والا دیکھیں گے جو انہوں نے کما رکھے ہیں اور وہ (عذاب) اُن پر واقع ہو کر رہے گا، اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک اعمال کرتے رہے وہ بہشت کے چَمنوں میں ہوں گے، اُن کے لئے اُن کے رب کے پاس وہ (تمام نعمتیں) ہوں گی جن کی وہ خواہش کریں گے، یہی تو بہت بڑا فضل ہے، |

[42:23] | Thalika allathee yubashshiruAllahu AAibadahu allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo alssalihati qul laas-alukum AAalayhi ajran illa almawaddata fee alqurbawaman yaqtarif hasanatan nazid lahu feeha husnaninna Allaha ghafoorun shakoorun
| ذلك الذي يبشر الله عباده الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات قل لا أسألكم عليه أجرا إلا المودة في القربى ومن يقترف حسنة نزد له فيها حسنا إن الله غفور شكور
ذَلِكَ الَّذِي يُبَشِّرُ اللَّهُ عِبَادَهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ قُل لَّا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَى وَمَن يَقْتَرِفْ حَسَنَةً نَّزِدْ لَهُ فِيهَا حُسْنًا إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | That is (the Bounty) whereof Allah gives Glad Tidings to His Servants who believe and do righteous deeds. Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this except the love of those near of kin." And if any one earns any good, We shall give him an increase of good in respect thereof: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready to appreciate (service).

| Tahir ul Qadri | یہ وہ (انعام) ہے جس کی خوشخبری اللہ ایسے بندوں کو سناتا ہے جو ایمان لائے اور نیک اعمال کرتے رہے، فرما دیجئے: میں اِس (تبلیغِ رسالت) پر تم سے کوئی اُجرت نہیں مانگتا مگر (اپنی اور اللہ کی) قرابت و قربت سے محبت (چاہتا ہوں) اور جو شخص نیکی کمائے گا ہم اس کے لئے اس میں اُخروی ثواب اور بڑھا دیں گے۔ بیشک اللہ بڑا بخشنے والا قدر دان ہے، |

[42:24] | Am yaqooloona iftara AAala Allahikathiban fa-in yasha-i Allahu yakhtim AAalaqalbika wayamhu Allahu albatila wayuhiqqualhaqqa bikalimatihi innahu AAaleemun bithatialssudoori
| أم يقولون افترى على الله كذبا فإن يشإ الله يختم على قلبك ويمح الله الباطل ويحق الحق بكلماته إنه عليم بذات الصدور
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَى عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا فَإِن يَشَإِ اللَّهُ يَخْتِمْ عَلَى قَلْبِكَ وَيَمْحُ اللَّهُ الْبَاطِلَ وَيُحِقُّ الْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَاتِهِ إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ |

| Yusuf Ali | What! Do they say, "He has forged a falsehood against Allah"? But if Allah willed, He could seal up thy heart. And Allah blots out Vanity, and proves the Truth by His Words. For He knows well the secrets of all hearts.

| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ اس (رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اللہ پر جھوٹا بہتان تراشا ہے، سو اگر اللہ چاہے توآپ کے قلبِ اطہر پر (صبر و استقامت کی) مُہر ثبت فرما دے (تاکہ آپ کو اِن کی بیہودہ گوئی کا رنج نہ پہنچے)، اور اﷲ باطل کو مٹا دیتا ہے اور اپنے کلمات سے حق کو ثابت رکھتا ہے۔ بیشک وہ سینوں کی باتوں کو خوب جاننے والا ہے، |

[42:25] | Wahuwa allathee yaqbalu alttawbataAAan AAibadihi wayaAAfoo AAani alssayyi-atiwayaAAlamu ma tafAAaloona
| وهو الذي يقبل التوبة عن عباده ويعفو عن السيئات ويعلم ما تفعلون
وَهُوَ الَّذِي يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَعْفُواْ عَنِ السَّيِّئَاتِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | He is the One that accepts repentance from His Servants and forgives sins: and He knows all that ye do.

[42:26] | Wayastajeebu allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo alssalihati wayazeeduhum min fadlihiwaalkafiroona lahum AAathabun shadeedun
| ويستجيب الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات ويزيدهم من فضله والكافرون لهم عذاب شديد
وَيَسْتَجِيبُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَيَزِيدُهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِ وَالْكَافِرُونَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | And He listens to those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, and gives them increase of His Bounty: but for the Unbelievers their is a terrible Penalty.

[42:27] | Walaw basata Allahu alrrizqaliAAibadihi labaghaw fee al-ardi walakinyunazzilu biqadarin ma yashao innahu biAAibadihikhabeerun baseerun
| ولو بسط الله الرزق لعباده لبغوا في الأرض ولكن ينزل بقدر ما يشاء إنه بعباده خبير بصير
وَلَوْ بَسَطَ اللَّهُ الرِّزْقَ لِعِبَادِهِ لَبَغَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَكِن يُنَزِّلُ بِقَدَرٍ مَّا يَشَاءُ إِنَّهُ بِعِبَادِهِ خَبِيرٌ بَصِيرٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | If Allah were to enlarge the provision for His Servants, they would indeed transgress beyond all bounds through the earth; but he sends (it) down in due measure as He pleases. For He is with His Servants Well-acquainted, Watchful.

| Words | |ولو - And if| بسط - Allah extends| الله - Allah extends| الرزق - the provision| لعباده - for His slaves,| لبغوا - surely they would rebel| في - in| الأرض - the earth;| ولكن - but| ينزل - He sends down| بقدر - in (due) measure| ما - what| يشاء - He wills.| إنه - Indeed, He| بعباده - of His slaves| خبير - (is) All-Aware,| بصير - All-Seer.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اگر اللہ اپنے تمام بندوں کے لئے روزی کشادہ فرما دے تو وہ ضرور زمین میں سرکشی کرنے لگیں لیکن وہ (ضروریات کے) اندازے کے ساتھ جتنی چاہتا ہے اتارتا ہے، بیشک وہ اپنے بندوں (کی ضرورتوں) سے خبردار ہے خوب دیکھنے والا ہے، |

[42:28] | Wahuwa allathee yunazzilu alghaythamin baAAdi ma qanatoo wayanshuru rahmatahuwahuwa alwaliyyu alhameedu
| وهو الذي ينزل الغيث من بعد ما قنطوا وينشر رحمته وهو الولي الحميد
وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ مِن بَعْدِ مَا قَنَطُوا وَيَنشُرُ رَحْمَتَهُ وَهُوَ الْوَلِيُّ الْحَمِيدُ |

| Yusuf Ali | He is the One that sends down rain (even) after (men) have given up all hope, and scatters His Mercy (far and wide). And He is the Protector, Worthy of all Praise.

[42:29] | Wamin ayatihi khalqu alssamawatiwaal-ardi wama baththa feehima min dabbatinwahuwa AAala jamAAihim itha yashao qadeerun
| ومن آياته خلق السماوات والأرض وما بث فيهما من دابة وهو على جمعهم إذا يشاء قدير
وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ خَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَثَّ فِيهِمَا مِن دَابَّةٍ وَهُوَ عَلَى جَمْعِهِمْ إِذَا يَشَاءُ قَدِيرٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the living creatures that He has scattered through them: and He has power to gather them together when He wills.

[42:30] | Wama asabakum min museebatinfabima kasabat aydeekum wayaAAfoo AAan katheerin
| وما أصابكم من مصيبة فبما كسبت أيديكم ويعفو عن كثير
وَمَا أَصَابَكُم مِّن مُّصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَيَعْفُواْ عَن كَثِيرٍ |

| Yusuf Ali | Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because on the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness.

| Words | |وما - And whatever| أصابكم - befalls you| من - of| مصيبة - (the) misfortune,| فبما - (is because) of what| كسبت - have earned| أيديكم - your hands.| ويعفو - But He pardons| عن - [from]| كثير - much.| |
