سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى |

| والذي قدر فهدى
وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَى |

| Yusuf Ali | Who hath ordained laws. And granted guidance;

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جس نے (ہر ہر چیز کے لئے) قانون مقرر کیا پھر (اسے اپنے اپنے نظام کے مطابق رہنے اور چلنے کا) راستہ بتایا، |

[87:4] | Waallathee akhraja almarAAa
| والذي أخرج المرعى
وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَى |

| Yusuf Ali | And Who bringeth out the (green and luscious) pasture,

| Words | |والذي - And the One Who| أخرج - brings forth| المرعى - the pasture,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جس نے (زمین سے) چارہ نکالا، |

[87:5] | FajaAAalahu ghuthaan ahwa
| فجعله غثاء أحوى
فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَى |

| Yusuf Ali | And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble.

| Words | |فجعله - And then makes it| غثاء - stubble,| أحوى - dark.| |

[87:6] | Sanuqri-oka fala tansa
| سنقرئك فلا تنسى
سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَى |

| Yusuf Ali | By degrees shall We teach thee to declare (the Message), so thou shalt not forget,

| Words | |سنقرئك - We will make you recite| فلا - so not| تنسى - you will forget,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے حبیبِ مکرّم!) ہم آپ کو خود (ایسا) پڑھائیں گے کہ آپ (کبھی) نہیں بھولیں گے، |

[87:7] | Illa ma shaa Allahuinnahu yaAAlamu aljahra wama yakhfa
| إلا ما شاء الله إنه يعلم الجهر وما يخفى
إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَى |

| Yusuf Ali | Except as Allah wills: For He knoweth what is manifest and what is hidden.

| Words | |إلا - Except| ما - what| شاء - wills| الله - Allah| إنه - Indeed, He| يعلم - knows| الجهر - the manifest| وما - and what| يخفى - is hidden.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | مگر جو اﷲ چاہے، بیشک وہ جہر اور خفی (یعنی ظاہر و پوشیدہ اور بلند و آہستہ) سب باتوں کو جانتا ہے، |

[87:8] | Wanuyassiruka lilyusra
| ونيسرك لليسرى
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَى |

| Yusuf Ali | And We will make it easy for thee (to follow) the simple (Path).

| Words | |ونيسرك - And We will ease you| لليسرى - to the ease.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم آپ کو اس آسان (شریعت پر عمل پیرا ہونے) کے لئے (بھی) سہولت فراہم فرمائیں گے، |

[87:9] | Fathakkir in nafaAAati alththikra
| فذكر إن نفعت الذكرى
فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَى |

| Yusuf Ali | Therefore give admonition in case the admonition profits (the hearer).

| Words | |فذكر - So remind,| إن - if| نفعت - benefits| الذكرى - the reminder.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس آپ نصیحت فرماتے رہیے بشرطیکہ نصیحت (سننے والوں کو) فائدہ دے، |

[87:10] | Sayaththakkaru man yakhsha
| سيذكر من يخشى
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَى |

| Yusuf Ali | The admonition will be received by those who fear (Allah):

| Words | |سيذكر - He will pay heed -| من - (one) who| يخشى - fears (Allah).| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | البتہ وہی نصیحت قبول کرے گا جو اﷲ سے ڈرتا ہوگا، |

[87:11] | Wayatajannabuha al-ashqa
| ويتجنبها الأشقى
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى |

| Yusuf Ali | But it will be avoided by those most unfortunate ones,

| Words | |ويتجنبها - And will avoid it| الأشقى - the wretched one.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بدبخت اس (نصیحت) سے پہلو تہی کرے گا، |

[87:12] | Allathee yasla alnnaraalkubra
| الذي يصلى النار الكبرى
الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَى |

| Yusuf Ali | Who will enter the Great Fire,

| Words | |الذي - The one who| يصلى - will burn| النار - (in) the Fire| الكبرى - [the] great.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | جو (قیامت کے دن) سب سے بڑی آگ میں داخل ہوگا، |

[87:13] | Thumma la yamootu feeha walayahya
| ثم لا يموت فيها ولا يحيى
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَى |

| Yusuf Ali | In which they will then neither die nor live.
|
| Words | |ثم - Then| لا - not| يموت - he will die| فيها - therein| ولا - and not| يحيى - will live.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر وہ اس میں نہ مرے گا اور نہ جیئے گا، |

[87:14] | Qad aflaha man tazakka
| قد أفلح من تزكى
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّى |

| Yusuf Ali | But those will prosper who purify themselves,

| Words | |قد - Certainly,| أفلح - has succeeded| من - (one) who| تزكى - purifies (himself),| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک وہی بامراد ہوا جو (نفس کی آفتوں اور گناہ کی آلودگیوں سے) پاک ہوگیا، |

[87:15] | Wathakara isma rabbihi fasalla
| وذكر اسم ربه فصلى
وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى |

| Yusuf Ali | And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer.

| Words | |وذكر - And remembers| اسم - (the) name| ربه - (of) his Lord| فصلى - and prays.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور وہ اپنے رب کے نام کا ذکر کرتا رہا اور (کثرت و پابندی سے) نماز پڑھتا رہا، |

[87:16] | Bal tu/thiroona alhayata alddunya
| بل تؤثرون الحياة الدنيا
بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا |

| Yusuf Ali | Day (behold), ye prefer the life of this world;
|
| Words | |بل - Nay!| تؤثرون - You prefer| الحياة - the life| الدنيا - (of) the world,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | بلکہ تم (اﷲ کی طرف رجوع کرنے کی بجائے) دنیاوی زندگی (کی لذتوں) کو اختیار کرتے ہو، |

[87:17] | Waal-akhiratu khayrun waabqa
| والآخرة خير وأبقى
وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى |

| Yusuf Ali | But the Hereafter is better and more enduring.
|
| Words | |والآخرة - While the Hereafter| خير - (is) better| وأبقى - and everlasting.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | حالانکہ آخرت (کی لذت و راحت) بہتر اور ہمیشہ باقی رہنے والی ہے، |

[87:18] | Inna hatha lafee alssuhufial-oola
| إن هذا لفي الصحف الأولى
إِنَّ هَذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَى |

| Yusuf Ali | And this is in the Books of the earliest (Revelation),-

| Words | |إن - Indeed,| هذا - this| لفي - surely (is) in| الصحف - the Scriptures| الأولى - [the] former,| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک یہ (تعلیم) اگلے صحیفوں میں (بھی مذکور) ہے، |

[87:19] | Suhufi ibraheema wamoosa
| صحف إبراهيم وموسى
صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى |

| Yusuf Ali | The Books of Abraham and Moses.

| Words | |صحف - (The) Scriptures| إبراهيم - (of) Ibrahim| وموسى - and Musa.| |
