| أحسب الناس أن يتركوا أن يقولوا آمنا وهم لا يفتنون
أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوا أَن يَقُولُوا آمَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested?

| Words | |أحسب - Do think| الناس - the people| أن - that| يتركوا - they will be left| أن - because| يقولوا - they say,| آمنا - "We believe"| وهم - and they| لا - will not be tested?| يفتنون - will not be tested?| |

[29:3] | Walaqad fatanna allatheena minqablihim falayaAAlamanna Allahu allatheena sadaqoowalayaAAlamanna alkathibeena
| ولقد فتنا الذين من قبلهم فليعلمن الله الذين صدقوا وليعلمن الكاذبين
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْكَاذِبِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false.
|
| Words | |ولقد - And indeed,| فتنا - We tested| الذين - those who| من - (were) before them.| قبلهم - (were) before them.| فليعلمن - And Allah will surely make evident| الله - And Allah will surely make evident| الذين - those who| صدقوا - (are) truthful| وليعلمن - and He will surely make evident| الكاذبين - the liars.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے ان لوگوں کو (بھی) آزمایا تھا جو ان سے پہلے تھے سو یقیناً اللہ ان لوگوں کو ضرور (آزمائش کے ذریعے) نمایاں فرما دے گا جو (دعوٰی ایمان میں) سچے ہیں اور جھوٹوں کو (بھی) ضرور ظاہر کر دے گا، |

| أم حسب الذين يعملون السيئات أن يسبقونا ساء ما يحكمون
أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ السَّيِّئَاتِ أَن يَسْبِقُونَا سَاءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | Do those who practise evil think that they will get the better of Us? Evil is their judgment!

[29:5] | Man kana yarjoo liqaa Allahifa-inna ajala Allahi laatin wahuwa alssameeAAualAAaleemu
| من كان يرجو لقاء الله فإن أجل الله لآت وهو السميع العليم
مَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ لَآتٍ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ |

| Yusuf Ali | For those whose hopes are in the meeting with Allah (in the Hereafter, let them strive); for the term (appointed) by Allah is surely coming and He hears and knows (all things).

[29:6] | Waman jahada fa-innama yujahidulinafsihi inna Allaha laghaniyyun AAani alAAalameena
| ومن جاهد فإنما يجاهد لنفسه إن الله لغني عن العالمين
وَمَن جَاهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَاهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | And if any strive (with might and main), they do so for their own souls: for Allah is free of all needs from all creation.
|
| Words | |ومن - And whoever| جاهد - strives| فإنما - then only| يجاهد - he strives| لنفسه - for himself.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| لغني - (is) Free from need| عن - of| العالمين - the worlds.| |

[29:7] | Waallatheena amanoowaAAamiloo alssalihati lanukaffirannaAAanhum sayyi-atihim walanajziyannahum ahsana allatheekanoo yaAAmaloona
| والذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات لنكفرن عنهم سيئاتهم ولنجزينهم أحسن الذي كانوا يعملون
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | Those who believe and work righteous deeds,- from them shall We blot out all evil (that may be) in them, and We shall reward them according to the best of their deeds.

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے رہے تو ہم ان کی ساری خطائیں ان (کے نامۂ اعمال) سے مٹا دیں گے اور ہم یقیناً انہیں اس سے بہتر جزا عطا فرما دیں گے جو عمل وہ (فی الواقع) کرتے رہے تھے، |

[29:8] | Wawassayna al-insana biwalidayhihusnan wa-in jahadaka litushrika bee malaysa laka bihi AAilmun fala tutiAAhumailayya marjiAAukum faonabbi-okum bima kuntum taAAmaloona
| ووصينا الإنسان بوالديه حسنا وإن جاهداك لتشرك بي ما ليس لك به علم فلا تطعهما إلي مرجعكم فأنبئكم بما كنتم تعملون
وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا وَإِن جَاهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | We have enjoined on man kindness to parents: but if they (either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me (in worship) anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not. Ye have (all) to return to me, and I will tell you (the truth) of all that ye did.

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے انسان کو اس کے والدین سے نیک سلوک کا حکم فرمایا اور اگر وہ تجھ پر (یہ) کوشش کریں کہ تو میرے ساتھ اس چیز کو شریک ٹھہرائے جس کا تجھے کچھ بھی علم نہیں تو ان کی اطاعت مت کر، میری ہی طرف تم (سب) کو پلٹنا ہے سو میں تمہیں ان (کاموں) سے آگاہ کردوں گا جو تم (دنیا میں) کیا کرتے تھے، |

[29:9] | Waallatheena amanoowaAAamiloo alssalihati lanudkhilannahum feealssaliheena
| والذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات لندخلنهم في الصالحين
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِي الصَّالِحِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | And those who believe and work righteous deeds,- them shall We admit to the company of the Righteous.
|
| Words | |والذين - And those who| آمنوا - believe| وعملوا - and do| الصالحات - righteous deeds| لندخلنهم - We will surely admit them| في - among| الصالحين - the righteous.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک اعمال کرتے رہے تو ہم انہیں ضرور نیکو کاروں (کے گروہ) میں داخل فرما دیں گے، |

[29:10] | Wamina alnnasi man yaqoolu amannabiAllahi fa-itha oothiya fee AllahijaAAala fitnata alnnasi kaAAathabi Allahiwala-in jaa nasrun min rabbika layaqoolunna innakunna maAAakum awa laysa Allahu bi-aAAlama bimafee sudoori alAAalameena
| ومن الناس من يقول آمنا بالله فإذا أوذي في الله جعل فتنة الناس كعذاب الله ولئن جاء نصر من ربك ليقولن إنا كنا معكم أوليس الله بأعلم بما في صدور العالمين
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ فَإِذَا أُوذِيَ فِي اللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ النَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ اللَّهِ وَلَئِن جَاءَ نَصْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ أَوَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِي صُدُورِ الْعَالَمِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | Then there are among men such as say, "We believe in Allah"; but when they suffer affliction in (the cause of) Allah, they treat men's oppression as if it were the Wrath of Allah! And if help comes (to thee) from thy Lord, they are sure to say, "We have (always) been with you!" Does not Allah know best all that is in the hearts of all creation?

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور لوگوں میں ایسے شخص (بھی) ہوتے ہیں جو (زبان سے) کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اللہ پر ایمان لائے، پھر جب انہیں اللہ کی راہ میں (کوئی) تکلیف پہنچائی جاتی ہے تو وہ لوگوں کی آزمائش کواللہ کے عذاب کی مانند قرار دیتے ہیں، اور اگر آپ کے رب کی جانب سے کوئی مدد آپہنچتی ہے تو وہ یقیناً یہ کہنے لگتے ہیں کہ ہم تو تمہارے ساتھ ہی تھے، کیا اللہ ان (باتوں) کو نہیں جانتا جو جہان والوں کے سینوں میں (پوشیدہ) ہیں، |

[29:11] | WalayaAAlamanna Allahu allatheenaamanoo walayaAAlamanna almunafiqeena
| وليعلمن الله الذين آمنوا وليعلمن المنافقين
وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | And Allah most certainly knows those who believe, and as certainly those who are Hypocrites.
|
| Words | |وليعلمن - And Allah will surely make evident| الله - And Allah will surely make evident| الذين - those who| آمنوا - believe,| وليعلمن - And He will surely make evident| المنافقين - the hypocrites.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ ضرور ایسے لوگوں کو ممتاز فرما دے گا جو (سچے دل سے) ایمان لائے ہیں اور منافقوں کو (بھی) ضرور ظاہر کر دے گا، |

[29:12] | Waqala allatheena kafaroolillatheena amanoo ittabiAAoo sabeelanawalnahmil khatayakum wama hum bihamileenamin khatayahum min shay-in innahum lakathiboona
| وقال الذين كفروا للذين آمنوا اتبعوا سبيلنا ولنحمل خطاياكم وما هم بحاملين من خطاياهم من شيء إنهم لكاذبون
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّبِعُوا سَبِيلَنَا وَلْنَحْمِلْ خَطَايَاكُمْ وَمَا هُم بِحَامِلِينَ مِنْ خَطَايَاهُم مِّن شَيْءٍ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | And the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Follow our path, and we will bear (the consequences) of your faults." Never in the least will they bear their faults: in fact they are liars!

| Words | |وقال - And said,| الذين - those who| كفروا - disbelieve| للذين - to those who| آمنوا - believe,| اتبعوا - "Follow| سبيلنا - our way,| ولنحمل - and we will carry| خطاياكم - your sins."| وما - But not| هم - they| بحاملين - (are) going to carry| من - of| خطاياهم - their sins| من - any| شيء - thing.| إنهم - Indeed, they| لكاذبون - (are) surely liars.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور کافر لوگ ایمان والوں سے کہتے ہیں کہ تم ہماری راہ کی پیروی کرو اور ہم تمہاری خطاؤں (کے بوجھ) کو اٹھا لیں گے، حالانکہ وہ ان کے گناہوں کا کچھ بھی (بوجھ) اٹھانے والے نہیں ہیں بیشک وہ جھوٹے ہیں، |

[29:13] | Walayahmilunna athqalahumwaathqalan maAAa athqalihim walayus-alunna yawmaalqiyamati AAamma kanoo yaftaroona
| وليحملن أثقالهم وأثقالا مع أثقالهم وليسألن يوم القيامة عما كانوا يفترون
وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّ أَثْقَالَهُمْ وَأَثْقَالًا مَّعَ أَثْقَالِهِمْ وَلَيُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | They will bear their own burdens, and (other) burdens along with their own, and on the Day of Judgments they will be called to account for their falsehoods.

| Words | |وليحملن - But surely they will carry| أثقالهم - their burdens| وأثقالا - and burdens| مع - with| أثقالهم - their burdens,| وليسألن - and surely they will be questioned| يوم - (on the) Day| القيامة - (of) the Resurrection| عما - about what| كانوا - they used| يفترون - (to) invent.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ یقیناً اپنے (گناہوں کے) بوجھ اٹھائیں گے اور اپنے بوجھوں کے ساتھ کئی (دوسرے) بوجھ (بھی اپنے اوپر لادے ہوں گے) اور ان سے روزِ قیامت ان (بہتانوں) کی ضرور پرسش کی جائے گی جو وہ گھڑا کرتے تھے، |

[29:14] | Walaqad arsalna noohan ilaqawmihi falabitha feehim alfa sanatin illa khamseena AAamanfaakhathahumu alttoofanu wahum thalimoona
| ولقد أرسلنا نوحا إلى قومه فلبث فيهم ألف سنة إلا خمسين عاما فأخذهم الطوفان وهم ظالمون
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَى قَوْمِهِ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا فَأَخَذَهُمُ الطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | We (once) sent Noah to his people, and he tarried among them a thousand years less fifty: but the Deluge overwhelmed them while they (persisted in) sin.

| Words | |ولقد - And verily,| أرسلنا - We sent| نوحا - Nuh| إلى - to| قومه - his people,| فلبث - and he remained| فيهم - among them| ألف - a thousand| سنة - year(s),| إلا - save| خمسين - fifty| عاما - year(s),| فأخذهم - then seized them| الطوفان - the flood,| وهم - while they| ظالمون - (were) wrongdoers.| |
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے نوح (علیہ السلام) کو ان کی قوم کی طرف بھیجا تو وہ ان میں پچاس برس کم ایک ہزار سال رہے، پھر ان لوگوں کو طوفان نے آپکڑا اس حال میں کہ وہ ظالم تھے، |

[29:15] | Faanjaynahu waas-haba alssafeenatiwajaAAalnaha ayatan lilAAalameena
| فأنجيناه وأصحاب السفينة وجعلناها آية للعالمين
فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَأَصْحَابَ السَّفِينَةِ وَجَعَلْنَاهَا آيَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | But We saved him and the companions of the Ark, and We made the (Ark) a Sign for all peoples!
|
| Words | |فأنجيناه - But We saved him| وأصحاب - and (the) people| السفينة - (of) the ship,| وجعلناها - and We made it| آية - a Sign| للعالمين - for the worlds.| |

[29:16] | Wa-ibraheema ith qalaliqawmihi oAAbudoo Allaha waittaqoohu thalikumkhayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona
| وإبراهيم إذ قال لقومه اعبدوا الله واتقوه ذلكم خير لكم إن كنتم تعلمون
وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ ذَلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | And (We also saved) Abraham: behold, he said to his people, "Serve Allah and fear Him: that will be best for you- If ye understand!

| Words | |وإبراهيم - And Ibrahim -| إذ - when| قال - he said| لقومه - to his people,| اعبدوا - "Worship| الله - Allah| واتقوه - and fear Him.| ذلكم - That| خير - (is) better| لكم - for you| إن - if| كنتم - you| تعلمون - know.| |

[29:17] | Innama taAAbudoona min dooni Allahiawthanan watakhluqoona ifkan inna allatheenataAAbudoona min dooni Allahi la yamlikoona lakumrizqan faibtaghoo AAinda Allahi alrrizqa waoAAbudoohuwaoshkuroo lahu ilayhi turjaAAoona
| إنما تعبدون من دون الله أوثانا وتخلقون إفكا إن الذين تعبدون من دون الله لا يملكون لكم رزقا فابتغوا عند الله الرزق واعبدوه واشكروا له إليه ترجعون
إِنَّمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْثَانًا وَتَخْلُقُونَ إِفْكًا إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لَكُمْ رِزْقًا فَابْتَغُوا عِندَ اللَّهِ الرِّزْقَ وَاعْبُدُوهُ وَاشْكُرُوا لَهُ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | "For ye do worship idols besides Allah, and ye invent falsehood. The things that ye worship besides Allah have no power to give you sustenance: then seek ye sustenance from Allah, serve Him, and be grateful to Him: to Him will be your return.

| Tahir ul Qadri | تم تو اللہ کے سوا بتوں کی پوجا کرتے ہو اور محض جھوٹ گھڑتے ہو، بیشک تم اللہ کے سوا جن کی پوجا کرتے ہو وہ تمہارے لئے رزق کے مالک نہیں ہیں پس تم اللہ کی بارگاہ سے رزق طلب کیا کرو اور اسی کی عبادت کیا کرو اور اسی کا شکر بجا لایا کرو، تم اسی کی طرف پلٹائے جاؤ گے، |

[29:18] | Wa-in tukaththiboo faqad kaththabaomamun min qablikum wama AAala alrrasooliilla albalaghu almubeenu
| وإن تكذبوا فقد كذب أمم من قبلكم وما على الرسول إلا البلاغ المبين
وَإِن تُكَذِّبُوا فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أُمَمٌ مِّن قَبْلِكُمْ وَمَا عَلَى الرَّسُولِ إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ |

| Yusuf Ali | "And if ye reject (the Message), so did generations before you: and the duty of the messenger is only to preach publicly (and clearly)."

| أولم يروا كيف يبدئ الله الخلق ثم يعيده إن ذلك على الله يسير
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَيْفَ يُبْدِئُ اللَّهُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | See they not how Allah originates creation, then repeats it: truly that is easy for Allah.

| قل سيروا في الأرض فانظروا كيف بدأ الخلق ثم الله ينشئ النشأة الآخرة إن الله على كل شيء قدير
قُلْ سِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ بَدَأَ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ اللَّهُ يُنشِئُ النَّشْأَةَ الْآخِرَةَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | Say: "Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation; so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all things.

[29:21] | YuAAaththibu man yashao wayarhamuman yashao wa-ilayhi tuqlaboona
| يعذب من يشاء ويرحم من يشاء وإليه تقلبون
يُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَرْحَمُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُقْلَبُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | "He punishes whom He pleases, and He grants Mercy to whom He pleases, and towards Him are ye turned.

[29:22] | Wama antum bimuAAjizeena fee al-ardiwala fee alssama-i wama lakum mindooni Allahi min waliyyin wala naseerin
| وما أنتم بمعجزين في الأرض ولا في السماء وما لكم من دون الله من ولي ولا نصير
وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ |

| Yusuf Ali | "Not on earth nor in heaven will ye be able (fleeing) to frustrate (his Plan), nor have ye, besides Allah, any protector or helper."

[29:23] | Waallatheena kafaroo bi-ayatiAllahi waliqa-ihi ola-ika ya-isoo min rahmateewaola-ika lahum AAathabun aleemun
| والذين كفروا بآيات الله ولقائه أولئك يئسوا من رحمتي وأولئك لهم عذاب أليم
وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَلِقَائِهِ أُوْلَئِكَ يَئِسُوا مِن رَّحْمَتِي وَأُوْلَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ |

| Yusuf Ali | Those who reject the Signs of Allah and the Meeting with Him (in the Hereafter),- it is they who shall despair of My Mercy: it is they who will (suffer) a most grievous Penalty.

[29:24] | Fama kana jawabaqawmihi illa an qaloo oqtuloohu aw harriqoohufaanjahu Allahu mina alnnari inna feethalika laayatin liqawmin yu/minoona
| فما كان جواب قومه إلا أن قالوا اقتلوه أو حرقوه فأنجاه الله من النار إن في ذلك لآيات لقوم يؤمنون
فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا اقْتُلُوهُ أَوْ حَرِّقُوهُ فَأَنْجَاهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ النَّارِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ |

| Yusuf Ali | So naught was the answer of (Abraham's) people except that they said: "Slay him or burn him." But Allah did save him from the Fire. Verily in this are Signs for people who believe.

| Tahir ul Qadri | سو قومِ ابراہیم کا جواب اس کے سوا کچھ نہ تھا کہ وہ کہنے لگے: تم اسے قتل کر ڈالو یا اسے جلا دو، پھر اللہ نے اسے (نمرود کی) آگ سے نجات بخشی، بیشک اس (واقعہ) میں ان لوگوں کے لئے نشانیاں ہیں جو ایمان لائے ہیں، |

[29:25] | Waqala innama ittakhathtummin dooni Allahi awthanan mawaddata baynikum fee alhayatialddunya thumma yawma alqiyamati yakfurubaAAdukum bibaAAdin wayalAAanu baAAdukumbaAAdan wama-wakumu alnnaru wamalakum min nasireena
| وقال إنما اتخذتم من دون الله أوثانا مودة بينكم في الحياة الدنيا ثم يوم القيامة يكفر بعضكم ببعض ويلعن بعضكم بعضا ومأواكم النار وما لكم من ناصرين
وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا اتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْثَانًا مَّوَدَّةَ بَيْنِكُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَكْفُرُ بَعْضُكُم بِبَعْضٍ وَيَلْعَنُ بَعْضُكُم بَعْضًا وَمَأْوَاكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | And he said: "For you, ye have taken (for worship) idols besides Allah, out of mutual love and regard between yourselves in this life; but on the Day of Judgment ye shall disown each other and curse each other: and your abode will be the Fire, and ye shall have none to help."

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) نے کہا: بس تم نے تو اللہ کو چھوڑ کر بتوں کو معبود بنا لیا ہے محض دنیوی زندگی میں آپس کی دوستی کی خاطر پھر روزِ قیامت تم میں سے (ہر) ایک دوسرے (کی دوستی) کا انکار کر دے گا اور تم میں سے (ہر) ایک دوسرے پر لعنت بھیجے گا، تو تمہارا ٹھکانا دوزخ ہے اور تمہارے لئے کوئی بھی مددگار نہ ہوگا، |

[29:26] | Faamana lahu lootun waqalainnee muhajirun ila rabbee innahu huwa alAAazeezualhakeemu
| فآمن له لوط وقال إني مهاجر إلى ربي إنه هو العزيز الحكيم
فَآمَنَ لَهُ لُوطٌ وَقَالَ إِنِّي مُهَاجِرٌ إِلَى رَبِّي إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ |

| Yusuf Ali | But Lut had faith in Him: He said: "I will leave home for the sake of my Lord: for He is Exalted in Might, and Wise."

[29:27] | Wawahabna lahu ishaqawayaAAqooba wajaAAalna fee thurriyyatihi alnnubuwwatawaalkitaba waataynahu ajrahu fee alddunyawa-innahu fee al-akhirati lamina alssaliheena
| ووهبنا له إسحاق ويعقوب وجعلنا في ذريته النبوة والكتاب وآتيناه أجره في الدنيا وإنه في الآخرة لمن الصالحين
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِي ذُرِّيَّتِهِ النُّبُوَّةَ وَالْكِتَابَ وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَجْرَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَإِنَّهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | And We gave (Abraham) Isaac and Jacob, and ordained among his progeny Prophethood and Revelation, and We granted him his reward in this life; and he was in the Hereafter (of the company) of the Righteous.

[29:28] | Walootan ith qalaliqawmihi innakum lata/toona alfahishata masabaqakum biha min ahadin mina alAAalameena
| ولوطا إذ قال لقومه إنكم لتأتون الفاحشة ما سبقكم بها من أحد من العالمين
وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ الْعَالَمِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | And (remember) Lut: behold, he said to his people: "Ye do commit lewdness, such as no people in Creation (ever) committed before you.

[29:29] | A-innakum lata/toona alrrijalawataqtaAAoona alssabeela wata/toona fee nadeekumualmunkara fama kana jawaba qawmihi illaan qaloo i/tina biAAathabi Allahi inkunta mina alssadiqeena
| أئنكم لتأتون الرجال وتقطعون السبيل وتأتون في ناديكم المنكر فما كان جواب قومه إلا أن قالوا ائتنا بعذاب الله إن كنت من الصادقين
أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ وَتَقْطَعُونَ السَّبِيلَ وَتَأْتُونَ فِي نَادِيكُمُ الْمُنكَرَ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا ائْتِنَا بِعَذَابِ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | "Do ye indeed approach men, and cut off the highway?- and practise wickedness (even) in your councils?" But his people gave no answer but this: they said: "Bring us the Wrath of Allah if thou tellest the truth."

| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا تم (شہوت رانی کے لئے) مَردوں کے پاس جاتے ہو اور ڈاکہ زنی کرتے ہو اور اپنی (بھری) مجلس میں ناپسندیدہ کام کرتے ہو، تو ان کی قوم کا جواب (بھی) اس کے سوا کچھ نہ تھا کہ کہنے لگے: تم ہم پر اللہ کا عذاب لے آؤ اگر تم سچے ہو، |

| قال رب انصرني على القوم المفسدين
قَالَ رَبِّ انصُرْنِي عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْمُفْسِدِينَ |

| Yusuf Ali | He said: "O my Lord! help Thou me against people who do mischief!"
