فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُواْ فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Derken o (müthiş) sarsıntı onları yakalayıverdi, yurtlarında diz üstü çökekaldılar. |
| Y. Ali | But the earthquake took them unawares, and they lay prostrate in their homes before the morning!

[7:92] | elleẕîne keẕẕebû şu`ayben keel lem yagnev fîhâ. elleẕîne keẕẕebû şu`ayben kânû hümü-lḫâsirîn. | الذين كذبوا شعيبا كأن لم يغنوا فيها الذين كذبوا شعيبا كانوا هم الخاسرين
الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ شُعَيْبًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْاْ فِيهَا الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ شُعَيْبًا كَانُواْ هُمُ الْخَاسِرِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Şu'ayb'ı yalanlayanlar, sanki yurtlarında hiç şenlik tutmamış gibi oldular. Şu'ayb'ı yalanlayanlar var ya işte ziyana uğrayanlar, onlar oldular. |
| Y. Ali | The men who reject Shu'aib became as if they had never been in the homes where they had flourished: the men who rejected Shu'aib - it was they who were ruined!

[7:93] | fetevellâ `anhüm veḳâle yâ ḳavmi leḳad eblagtüküm risâlâti rabbî veneṣaḥtü leküm. fekeyfe âsâ `alâ ḳavmin kâfirîn. | فتولى عنهم وقال يا قوم لقد أبلغتكم رسالات ربي ونصحت لكم فكيف آسى على قوم كافرين
فَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالاَتِ رَبِّي وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ فَكَيْفَ آسَى عَلَى قَوْمٍ كَافِرِينَ |

| Elmalılı | (Şu'ayb) onlardan öteye döndü de: "Ey kavmim! dedi, ben size Rabbimin gönderdiği gerçekleri duyurdum ve size öğüt verdim, artık kâfir bir kavme nasıl acırım?" |
| Y. Ali | So Shu'aib left them, saying: "O my people! I did indeed convey to you the messages for which I was sent by my Lord: I gave you good counsel, but how shall I lament over a people who refuse to believe!"

[7:94] | vemâ erselnâ fî ḳaryetim min nebiyyin illâ eḫaẕnâ ehlehâ bilbe'sâi veḍḍarrâi le`allehüm yeḍḍarra`ûn. | وما أرسلنا في قرية من نبي إلا أخذنا أهلها بالبأساء والضراء لعلهم يضرعون
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّبِيٍّ إِلاَّ أَخَذْنَا أَهْلَهَا بِالْبَأْسَاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَضَّرَّعُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Biz hangi ülkeye bir peygamber gönderdiysek, onun halkınıyalvarıp yakarsınlar diye mutlaka yoksulluk ve darlıkla sıkmışızdır. |
| Y. Ali | Whenever We sent a prophet to a town, We took up its people in suffering and adversity, in order that they might learn humility.

[7:95] | ŝümme beddelnâ mekâne-sseyyieti-lḥasenete ḥattâ `afev veḳâlû ḳad messe âbâene-ḍḍarrâü vesserrâü feeḫaẕnâhüm bagtetev vehüm lâ yeş`urûn. | ثم بدلنا مكان السيئة الحسنة حتى عفوا وقالوا قد مس آباءنا الضراء والسراء فأخذناهم بغتة وهم لا يشعرون
ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ السَّيِّئَةِ الْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّى عَفَواْ وَّقَالُواْ قَدْ مَسَّ آبَاءَنَا الضَّرَّاءُ وَالسَّرَّاءُ فَأَخَذْنَاهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لاَ يَشْعُرُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Sonra kötülüğü değiştirip yerine iyilik (bolluk) getirdik, nihayet çoğaldılar ve: "Atalarımıza da böyle darlık ve sevinç dokunmuştu." dediler ve hemen onları, hiç farkında olmadıkları bir sırada ansızın yakaladık. |
| Y. Ali | Then We changed their suffering into prosperity, until they grew and multiplied, and began to say: "Our fathers (too) were touched by suffering and affluence" ... Behold! We called them to account of a sudden, while they realised not (their peril).

[7:96] | velev enne ehle-lḳurâ âmenû vetteḳav lefetaḥnâ `aleyhim berakâtim mine-ssemâi vel'arḍi velâkin keẕẕebû feeḫaẕnâhüm bimâ kânû yeksibûn. | ولو أن أهل القرى آمنوا واتقوا لفتحنا عليهم بركات من السماء والأرض ولكن كذبوا فأخذناهم بما كانوا يكسبون
وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْقُرَى آمَنُواْ وَاتَّقَواْ لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَرَكَاتٍ مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَـكِن كَذَّبُواْ فَأَخَذْنَاهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ |

| Elmalılı | (O) ülkelerin halkı inanıp (Allah'ın azabından) korunsalardı, elbette üzerlerine gökten ve yerden bolluklar açardık; fakat yalanladılar, biz de onları kazandıklarıyla yakaladık. |
| Y. Ali | If the people of the towns had but believed and feared Allah, We should indeed have opened out to them (All kinds of) blessings from heaven and earth; but they rejected (the truth), and We brought them to book for their misdeeds.

أَفَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ الْقُرَى أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا بَيَاتاً وَهُمْ نَآئِمُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Acaba o ülkelerin halkı, geceleyin uyurlarken kendilerine azabımızın gelmeyeceğinden emin mi idiler? |
| Y. Ali | Did the people of the towns feel secure against the coming of Our wrath by night while they were asleep?

أَوَ أَمِنَ أَهْلُ الْقُرَى أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا ضُحًى وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Yoksa o ülkelerin halkı, kuşluk vakti eğlenirlerken onlara azabımızın gelmeyeceğinden emin mi idiler? |
| Y. Ali | Or else did they feel secure against its coming in broad daylight while they played about (care-free)?

أَفَأَمِنُواْ مَكْرَ اللّهِ فَلاَ يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَ اللّهِ إِلاَّ الْقَوْمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Allah'ın tuzağından (kurtulacaklarına) emin mi oldular? Ziyana uğrayan topluluktan başkası, Allah'ın tuzağından emin olmaz. |
| Y. Ali | Did they then feel secure against the plan of Allah?- but no one can feel secure from the Plan of Allah, except those (doomed) to ruin!

[7:100] | evelem yehdi lilleẕîne yeriŝûne-l'arḍa mim ba`di ehlihâ el lev neşâü eṣabnâhüm biẕünûbihim. venaṭbe`u `alâ ḳulûbihim fehüm lâ yesme`ûn. | أولم يهد للذين يرثون الأرض من بعد أهلها أن لو نشاء أصبناهم بذنوبهم ونطبع على قلوبهم فهم لا يسمعون
أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ الْأَرْضَ مِن بَعْدِ أَهْلِهَا أَن لَّوْ نَشَاءُ أَصَبْنَاهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَنَطْبَعُ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لاَ يَسْمَعُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Önceki sahiplerinden sonra yeryüzüne vâris olanlara hâlâ şu gerçek belli olmadı mı ki: Eğer biz dileseydik onları da günahlarından dolayı musibetlere uğratırdık! Biz onların kalplerini mühürleriz de onlar (gerçekleri) işitmezler. |
| Y. Ali | To those who inherit the earth in succession to its (previous) possessors, is it not a guiding, (lesson) that, if We so willed, We could punish them (too) for their sins, and seal up their hearts so that they could not hear?

[7:101] | tilke-lḳurâ neḳuṣṣu `aleyke min embâihâ. veleḳad câethüm rusülühüm bilbeyyinât. femâ kânû liyü'minû bimâ keẕẕebû min ḳabl. keẕâlike yaṭbe`u-llâhü `alâ ḳulûbi-lkâfirîn. | تلك القرى نقص عليك من أنبائها ولقد جاءتهم رسلهم بالبينات فما كانوا ليؤمنوا بما كذبوا من قبل كذلك يطبع الله على قلوب الكافرين
تِلْكَ الْقُرَى نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنبَآئِهَا وَلَقَدْ جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَمَا كَانُواْ لِيُؤْمِنُواْ بِمَا كَذَّبُواْ مِن قَبْلُ كَذَلِكَ يَطْبَعُ اللّهُ عَلَى قُلُوبِ الْكَافِرِينَ |

| Elmalılı | İşte o ülkeler ki, sana onların haberlerinden bir kısmını anlatıyoruz Andolsun ki, peygamberleri onlara apaçık deliller (mucizeler) getirmişlerdi. Fakat önceden yalanladıkları gerçeklere iman edecek değillerdi. İşte o kâfirlerin kalplerini Allah böyle mühürler. |
| Y. Ali | Such were the towns whose story We (thus) relate unto thee: There came indeed to them their messengers with clear (signs): But they would not believe what they had rejected before. Thus doth Allah seal up the hearts of those who reject faith.

[7:102] | vemâ vecednâ liekŝerihim min `ahd. veiv vecednâ ekŝerahüm lefâsiḳîn. | وما وجدنا لأكثرهم من عهد وإن وجدنا أكثرهم لفاسقين
وَمَا وَجَدْنَا لِأَكْثَرِهِم مِّنْ عَهْدٍ وَإِن وَجَدْنَا أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَفَاسِقِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Onların çoğunda, sözde durma (diye bir şey) bulamadık. Gerçek şu ki, onların çoğunu yoldan çıkmış bulduk. |
| Y. Ali | Most of them We found not men (true) to their covenant: but most of them We found rebellious and disobedient.

[7:103] | ŝümme be`aŝnâ mim ba`dihim mûsâ biâyâtinâ ilâ fir`avne vemeleihî feżalemû bihâ. fenżur keyfe kâne `âḳibetü-lmüfsidîn. | ثم بعثنا من بعدهم موسى بآياتنا إلى فرعون وملئه فظلموا بها فانظر كيف كان عاقبة المفسدين
ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَى بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ فَظَلَمُواْ بِهَا فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُفْسِدِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Sonra onların arkasından Musa'yı mucizelerimizle Firavun'a ve topluluğuna gönderdik. Tuttular o mucizeleri inkâr ettiler. Ettiler de bak, o bozguncuların âkıbetleri nasıl oldu! |
| Y. Ali | Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them: So see what was the end of those who made mischief.

[7:104] | veḳâle mûsâ yâ fir`avnü innî rasûlüm mir rabbi-l`âlemîn. | وقال موسى يا فرعون إني رسول من رب العالمين
وَقَالَ مُوسَى يَا فِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّي رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Musa: "Ey Firavun! Bil ki ben âlemlerin Rabbi tarafından gönderilmiş bir peygamberim." dedi. |
| Y. Ali | Moses said: "O Pharaoh! I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds,-

[7:105] | ḥaḳîḳun `alâ el lâ eḳûle `ale-llâhi ille-lḥaḳḳ. ḳad ci'tüküm bibeyyinetim mir rabbiküm feersil me`iye benî isrâîl. | حقيق على أن لا أقول على الله إلا الحق قد جئتكم ببينة من ربكم فأرسل معي بني إسرائيل
حَقِيقٌ عَلَى أَن لاَّ أَقُولَ عَلَى اللّهِ إِلاَّ الْحَقَّ قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِبَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعِيَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ |

| Elmalılı | Allah'a karşı ilk görevim, hak olandan başka bir şey söylemememdir. Gerçekten ben size Rabbinizden bir mucize getirdim, artık İsrailoğullarını benimle gönder. |
| Y. Ali | One for whom it is right to say nothing but truth about Allah. Now have I come unto you (people), from your Lord, with a clear (Sign): So let the Children of Israel depart along with me."

[7:106] | ḳâle in künte ci'te biâyetin fe'ti bihâ in künte mine-ṣṣâdiḳîn. | قال إن كنت جئت بآية فأت بها إن كنت من الصادقين
قَالَ إِن كُنتَ جِئْتَ بِآيَةٍ فَأْتِ بِهَا إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Firavun: "Eğer bir mucize getirdiysen ve eğer doğru söyleyenlerden isen onu göster" dedi. |
| Y. Ali | (Pharaoh) said: "If indeed thou hast come with a Sign, show it forth,- if thou tellest the truth."

| Words | |قال - He said,| إن - "If| كنت - you have| جئت - come| بآية - with a Sign,| فأت - then bring| بها - it| إن - if| كنت - you are| من - of| الصادقين - the truthful."| |

[7:107] | feelḳâ `aṣâhü feiẕâ hiye ŝü`bânüm mübîn. | فألقى عصاه فإذا هي ثعبان مبين
فَأَلْقَى عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ |

| Elmalılı | Bunun üzerine Musa, asâsını yere bırakıverdi, o da birdenbire kocaman bir ejderha kesiliverdi. |
| Y. Ali | Then (Moses) threw his rod, and behold! it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)!

| Words | |فألقى - So he threw| عصاه - his staff,| فإذا - and suddenly| هي - it| ثعبان - (was) a serpent,| مبين - manifest.| |

[7:108] | veneza`a yedehû feiẕâ hiye beyḍâü linnâżirîn. | ونزع يده فإذا هي بيضاء للناظرين
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيْضَاءُ لِلنَّاظِرِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Ve Musa elini koynundan çıkarıverdi, eli bembeyaz olmuş, bakanların gözünü kamaştırıyordu. |
| Y. Ali | And he drew out his hand, and behold! it was white to all beholders!
|
| Words | |ونزع - And he drew out| يده - his hand| فإذا - and suddenly| هي - it| بيضاء - (was) white| للناظرين - for the observers.| |

[7:109] | ḳâle-lmeleü min ḳavmi fir`avne inne hâẕâ lesâḥirun `alîm. | قال الملأ من قوم فرعون إن هذا لساحر عليم
قَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّ هَـذَا لَسَاحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ |

| Elmalılı | Firavun'un kavminden ileri gelenler, "Muhakkak bu çok bilgili bir sihirbazdır." dediler. |
| Y. Ali | Said the Chiefs of the people of Pharaoh: "This is indeed a sorcerer well-versed.
|

[7:110] | yürîdü ey yuḫriceküm min arḍiküm. femâẕâ te'mürûn. | يريد أن يخرجكم من أرضكم فماذا تأمرون
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُمْ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ |

| Elmalılı | O, sizi yurdunuzdan çıkarmak istiyor. (Firavun): "O halde siz ne diyorsunuz?" dedi. |
| Y. Ali | "His plan is to get you out of your land: then what is it ye counsel?"

| Words | |يريد - He wants| أن - to| يخرجكم - drive you out| من - from| أرضكم - your land,| فماذا - so what| تأمرون - (do) you instruct?"| |

[7:111] | ḳâlû ercih veeḫâhü veersil fi-lmedâini ḥâşirîn. | قالوا أرجه وأخاه وأرسل في المدائن حاشرين
قَالُواْ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَأَرْسِلْ فِي الْمَدَآئِنِ حَاشِرِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Onlar da "onu ve kardeşini beklet, şehirlere de toplayıcılar gönder." dediler. |
| Y. Ali | They said: "Keep him and his brother in suspense (for a while); and send to the cities men to collect-
|
| Words | |قالوا - They said,| أرجه - "Postpone him| وأخاه - and his brother,| وأرسل - and send| في - in| المدائن - the cities| حاشرين - gatherers.| |

[7:112] | ye'tûke bikülli sâḥirin `alîm. | يأتوك بكل ساحر عليم
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَاحِرٍ عَلِيمٍ |

| Elmalılı | "Bütün bilgiç sihirbazları sana getirsinler." |
| Y. Ali | And bring up to thee all (our) sorcerers well-versed."

وَجَاءَ السَّحَرَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ قَالْواْ إِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ الْغَالِبِينَ |

| Elmalılı | O sihirbazlar Firavun'a geldiler: "Galip gelirsek bize muhakkak mükâfat var değil mi?" dediler. |
| Y. Ali | So there came the sorcerers to Pharaoh: They said, "of course we shall have a (suitable) reward if we win!"

[7:114] | ḳâle ne`am veinneküm lemine-lmüḳarrabîn. | قال نعم وإنكم لمن المقربين
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ لَمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ |

| Y. Ali | He said: "Yea, (and more),- for ye shall in that case be (raised to posts) nearest (to my person)."

[7:115] | ḳâlû yâ mûsâ immâ en tülḳiye veimmâ en nekûne naḥnü-lmülḳîn. | قالوا يا موسى إما أن تلقي وإما أن نكون نحن الملقين
قَالُواْ يَا مُوسَى إِمَّا أَن تُلْقِيَ وَإِمَّا أَن نَّكُونَ نَحْنُ الْمُلْقِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Sihirbazlar, Musa'ya: "Ey Musa! Önce sen mi hünerini ortaya koyacaksın, yoksa biz mi?" dediler. |
| Y. Ali | They said: "O Moses! wilt thou throw (first), or shall we have the (first) throw?"

[7:116] | ḳâle elḳû. felemmâ elḳav seḥarû a`yüne-nnâsi vesterhebûhüm vecâû bisiḥrin `ażîm. | قال ألقوا فلما ألقوا سحروا أعين الناس واسترهبوهم وجاءوا بسحر عظيم
قَالَ أَلْقُوْاْ فَلَمَّا أَلْقَوْاْ سَحَرُواْ أَعْيُنَ النَّاسِ وَاسْتَرْهَبُوهُمْ وَجَاءُوا بِسِحْرٍ عَظِيمٍ |

| Elmalılı | Musa, "Siz atın" dedi. Atacaklarını atınca herkesin gözünü büyülediler ve onları dehşete düşürdüler. Doğrusu büyük bir sihir gösterdiler. |
| Y. Ali | Said Moses: "Throw ye (first)." So when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them: for they showed a great (feat of) magic.

[7:117] | veevḥaynâ ilâ mûsâ en elḳi `aṣâk. feiẕâ hiye telḳafü mâ ye'fikûn. | وأوحينا إلى موسى أن ألق عصاك فإذا هي تلقف ما يأفكون
وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَى مُوسَى أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Biz de Musa'ya "Sen de asânı bırakıver." diye vahyettik. Birdenbire asâ, onların bütün uydurduklarını yakalayıp yutuverdi. |
| Y. Ali | We put it into Moses's mind by inspiration: "Throw (now) thy rod":and behold! it swallows up straight away all the falsehoods which they fake!

[7:118] | feveḳa`a-lḥaḳḳu vebeṭale mâ kânû ya`melûn. | فوقع الحق وبطل ما كانوا يعملون
فَوَقَعَ الْحَقُّ وَبَطَلَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ |

| Y. Ali | Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect.

[7:119] | fegulibû hünâlike venḳalebû ṣâgirîn. | فغلبوا هنالك وانقلبوا صاغرين
فَغُلِبُواْ هُنَالِكَ وَانقَلَبُواْ صَاغِرِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Orada mağlup olmuş ve küçük düşmüşlerdi. |
| Y. Ali | So the (great ones) were vanquished there and then, and were made to look small.

[7:120] | veülḳiye-sseḥaratü sâcidîn. | وألقي السحرة ساجدين
وَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سَاجِدِينَ |
