وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا |

| Y. Ali | By the Moon as she follows him;

| Words | |والقمر - And the moon| إذا - when| تلاها - it follows it,| |

[91:3] | vennehâri iẕâ cellâhâ. | والنهار إذا جلاها
وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّاهَا |

| Elmalılı | Güneş'i açıp ortaya çıkaran gündüze, |
| Y. Ali | By the Day as it shows up (the Sun's) glory;
|
| Words | |والنهار - And the day| إذا - when| جلاها - it displays it,| |

[91:4] | velleyli iẕâ yagşâhâ. | والليل إذا يغشاها
وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَاهَا |

| Y. Ali | By the Night as it conceals it;

| Words | |والليل - And the night| إذا - when| يغشاها - it covers it,| |

[91:5] | vessemâi vemâ benâhâ. | والسماء وما بناها
وَالسَّمَاءِ وَمَا بَنَاهَا |

| Elmalılı | Göğe ve onu bina edene, |
| Y. Ali | By the Firmament and its (wonderful) structure;

| Words | |والسماء - And the heaven| وما - and (He) Who| بناها - constructed it,| |

[91:6] | vel'arḍi vemâ ṭaḥâhâ. | والأرض وما طحاها
وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَاهَا |

| Elmalılı | Yere ve onu döşeyene, |
| Y. Ali | By the Earth and its (wide) expanse:

| Words | |والأرض - And the earth| وما - and by (He) Who| طحاها - spread it,| |

[91:7] | venefsiv vemâ sevvâhâ. | ونفس وما سواها
وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّاهَا |

| Elmalılı | Nefse ve onu biçimlendirene, |
| Y. Ali | By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it;
|
| Words | |ونفس - And (the) soul| وما - and (He) Who| سواها - proportioned it,| |

[91:8] | feelhemehâ fücûrahâ vetaḳvâhâ. | فألهمها فجورها وتقواها
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا |

| Elmalılı | Sonra da ona kötülük ve takva kabiliyetini verene yemin olsun ki, |
| Y. Ali | And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;-
|
| Words | |فألهمها - And He inspired it| فجورها - (to distinguish) its wickedness| وتقواها - and its righteousness| |

[91:9] | ḳad efleḥa men zekkâhâ. | قد أفلح من زكاها
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّاهَا |

| Elmalılı | Elbette nefsini temizleyip parlatan kurtulmuştur. |
| Y. Ali | Truly he succeeds that purifies it,
|
| Words | |قد - Indeed,| أفلح - he succeeds| من - who| زكاها - purifies it,| |

[91:10] | veḳad ḫâbe men dessâhâ. | وقد خاب من دساها
وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّاهَا |

| Elmalılı | Onu kirletip gömen de ziyan etmiştir. |
| Y. Ali | And he fails that corrupts it!
|
| Words | |وقد - And indeed,| خاب - he fails| من - who| دساها - buries it.| |

[91:11] | keẕẕebet ŝemûdü biṭagvâhâ. | كذبت ثمود بطغواها
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَاهَا |

| Elmalılı | Semud, azgınlığıyla Hakk'ı yalanladı, |
| Y. Ali | The Thamud (people) rejected (their prophet) through their inordinate wrong-doing,
|
| Words | |كذبت - Denied| ثمود - Thamud| بطغواها - by their transgression,| |

[91:12] | iẕi-mbe`aŝe eşḳâhâ. | إذ انبعث أشقاها
إِذِ انبَعَثَ أَشْقَاهَا |

| Elmalılı | En azgınları ileri atılınca, |
| Y. Ali | Behold, the most wicked man among them was deputed (for impiety).
|
| Words | |إذ - When| انبعث - (was) sent forth| أشقاها - (the) most wicked of them.| |
13.
[91:13] | feḳâle lehüm rasûlü-llâhi nâḳate-llâhi vesuḳyâhâ. | فقال لهم رسول الله ناقة الله وسقياها
فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ نَاقَةَ اللَّهِ وَسُقْيَاهَا |

| Elmalılı | Allah'ın Rasulü (Salih peygamber) onlara: "Allah'ın devesini ve onun su nöbetini gözetin." demişti. |
| Y. Ali | But the Messenger of Allah said to them: "It is a She-camel of Allah! And (bar her not from) having her drink!"
|
| Words | |فقال - But said| لهم - to them| رسول - (the) Messenger| الله - (of) Allah,| ناقة - "(It is the) she-camel| الله - (of) Allah| وسقياها - and her drink."| |
14.
[91:14] | fekeẕẕebûhü fe`aḳarûhâ. fedemdeme `aleyhim rabbühüm biẕembihim fesevvâhâ. | فكذبوه فعقروها فدمدم عليهم ربهم بذنبهم فسواها
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنبِهِمْ فَسَوَّاهَا |

| Elmalılı | Fakat onlar peygamberi yalanlayıp deveyi kestiler. Rableri de günahlarını başlarına geçiriverdi de orayı dümdüz etti. |
| Y. Ali | Then they rejected him (as a false prophet), and they hamstrung her. So their Lord, on account of their crime, obliterated their traces and made them equal (in destruction, high and low)!

| Words | |فكذبوه - But they denied him,| فعقروها - and they hamstrung her.| فدمدم - So destroyed| عليهم - them| ربهم - their Lord| بذنبهم - for their sin| فسواها - and leveled them.| |
15.
[91:15] | velâ yeḫâfü `uḳbâhâ. | ولا يخاف عقباها
وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَاهَا |
|---|
| Elmalılı | Öyle ya, Allah bu işin sonundan korkacak değil ya. |
| Y. Ali | And for Him is no fear of its consequences.
|
| Words | |ولا - And not| يخاف - He fears| عقباها - its consequences.| |
