[4:61] | veiẕâ ḳîle lehüm te`âlev ilâ mâ enzele-llâhü veile-rrasûli raeyte-lmünâfiḳîne yeṣuddûne `anke ṣudûdâ. |  وإذا قيل لهم تعالوا إلى ما أنزل الله وإلى الرسول رأيت المنافقين يصدون عنك صدودا
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْاْ إِلَى مَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ وَإِلَى الرَّسُولِ رَأَيْتَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَنكَ صُدُودًا |

| Elmalılı | Onlara: "Allah'ın indirdiğine ve Peygambere gelin!" denince, münafıkların senden büsbütün uzaklaştıklarını görürsün. |
| Y. Ali | When it is said to them: "Come to what Allah hath revealed, and to the Messenger": Thou seest the Hypocrites avert their faces from thee in disgust.

[4:62] | fekeyfe iẕâ eṣâbethüm müṣîbetüm bimâ ḳaddemet eydîhim ŝümme câûke yaḥlifûne billâhi in eradnâ illâ iḥsânev vetevfîḳâ. | فكيف إذا أصابتهم مصيبة بما قدمت أيديهم ثم جاءوك يحلفون بالله إن أردنا إلا إحسانا وتوفيقا
فَكَيْفَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ ثُمَّ جَآؤُوكَ يَحْلِفُونَ بِاللّهِ إِنْ أَرَدْنَا إِلاَّ إِحْسَانًا وَتَوْفِيقًا |

| Elmalılı | Ya nasıl, elleriyle yaptıkları yüzünden başlarına bir felaket gelince, hemen sana geldiler de: "Biz sadece iyilik etmek ve arayı bulmak istedik." diye Allah'a yemin ediyorlar. |
| Y. Ali | How then, when they are seized by misfortune, because of the deeds which they hands have sent forth? Then their come to thee, swearing by Allah: "We meant no more than good-will and conciliation!"

[4:63] | ülâike-lleẕîne ya`lemü-llâhü mâ fî ḳulûbihim fea`riḍ `anhüm ve`iżhüm veḳul lehüm fî enfüsihim ḳavlem belîgâ. | أولئك الذين يعلم الله ما في قلوبهم فأعرض عنهم وعظهم وقل لهم في أنفسهم قولا بليغا
أُولَـئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُ اللّهُ مَا فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَعِظْهُمْ وَقُل لَّهُمْ فِي أَنفُسِهِمْ قَوْلاً بَلِيغًا |

| Elmalılı | Onlar, Allah'ın kalblerindekini bildiği kimselerdir; Onlara aldırma, onlara öğüt ver ve onların içlerine tesir edecek güzel söz söyle! |
| Y. Ali | Those men,-Allah knows what is in their hearts; so keep clear of them, but admonish them, and speak to them a word to reach their very souls.

[4:64] | vemâ erselnâ mir rasûlin illâ liyüṭâ`a biiẕni-llâh. velev ennehüm iż żalemû enfüsehüm câûke festagferü-llâhe vestagfera lehümü-rrasûlü levecedü-llâhe tevvâber raḥîmâ. | وما أرسلنا من رسول إلا ليطاع بإذن الله ولو أنهم إذ ظلموا أنفسهم جاءوك فاستغفروا الله واستغفر لهم الرسول لوجدوا الله توابا رحيما
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلاَّ لِيُطَاعَ بِإِذْنِ اللّهِ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ جَآؤُوكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُواْ اللّهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُواْ اللّهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا |

| Elmalılı | Biz hangi peygamberi gönderdikse, sırf Allah'ın izni ile itaat edilmek üzere gönderdik. Eğer onlar kendilerine zulmettikleri zaman sana gelseler de Allah'tan günahlarının bağışlanmasını dileselerdi ve Resul de onların bağışlanmasını dileseydi, elbette Allah'ı affedici, merhametli bulurlardı. |
| Y. Ali | We sent not a messenger, but to be obeyed, in accordance with the will of Allah. If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves, come unto thee and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-returning, Most Merciful.

[4:65] | felâ verabbike lâ yü'minûne ḥattâ yüḥakkimûke fîmâ şecera beynehüm ŝümme lâ yecidû fî enfüsihim ḥaracem mimmâ ḳaḍayte veyüsellimû teslîmâ. | فلا وربك لا يؤمنون حتى يحكموك فيما شجر بينهم ثم لا يجدوا في أنفسهم حرجا مما قضيت ويسلموا تسليما
فَلاَ وَرَبِّكَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ حَتَّى يُحَكِّمُوكَ فِيمَا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ لاَ يَجِدُواْ فِي أَنفُسِهِمْ حَرَجًا مِّمَّا قَضَيْتَ وَيُسَلِّمُواْ تَسْلِيمًا |

| Elmalılı | Hayır! Rabbine andolsun ki iş bildikleri gibi değil, onlar aralarında çıkan çekişmeli işlerde seni hakem yapıp sonra da senin verdiğin hükme karşı içlerinde hiçbir sıkıntı duymaksızın, tam bir teslimiyetle boyun eğmedikçe iman etmiş olamazlar. |
| Y. Ali | But no, by the Lord, they can have no (real) Faith, until they make thee judge in all disputes between them, and find in their souls no resistance against Thy decisions, but accept them with the fullest conviction.

[4:66] | velev ennâ ketebnâ `aleyhim eni-ḳtülû enfüseküm evi-ḫrucû min diyâriküm mâ fe`alûhü illâ ḳalîlüm minhüm. velev ennehüm fe`alû mâ yû`ażûne bihî lekâne ḫayral lehüm veeşedde teŝbîtâ. | ولو أنا كتبنا عليهم أن اقتلوا أنفسكم أو اخرجوا من دياركم ما فعلوه إلا قليل منهم ولو أنهم فعلوا ما يوعظون به لكان خيرا لهم وأشد تثبيتا
وَلَوْ أَنَّا كَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ أَنِ اقْتُلُواْ أَنفُسَكُمْ أَوِ اخْرُجُواْ مِن دِيَارِكُم مَّا فَعَلُوهُ إِلاَّ قَلِيلٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ فَعَلُواْ مَا يُوعَظُونَ بِهِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ تَثْبِيتًا |

| Elmalılı | Eğer biz onlara: "Kendinizi öldürün, veya yurtlarınızdan çıkın." diye yazmış olsaydık, içlerinden pek azı hariç, bunu yapamazlardı. Fakat kendilerine verilen öğütleri tutsalardı, elbette haklarında hem daha hayırlı, hem de daha sağlam olurdu. |
| Y. Ali | If We had ordered them to sacrifice their lives or to leave their homes, very few of them would have done it: But if they had done what they were (actually) told, it would have been best for them, and would have gone farthest to strengthen their (faith);

| Words | |ولو - And if| أنا - [that] We| كتبنا - (had) decreed| عليهم - on them| أن - that,| اقتلوا - "Kill| أنفسكم - yourselves"| أو - or| اخرجوا - "Go forth| من - from| دياركم - your homes,"| ما - not| فعلوه - they would have done it| إلا - except| قليل - a few| منهم - of them.| ولو - But if| أنهم - [that] they| فعلوا - had done| ما - what| يوعظون - they were advised| به - with [it],| لكان - surely (it) would have been| خيرا - better| لهم - for them| وأشد - and stronger| تثبيتا - strengthen(ing).| |

[4:67] | veiẕel leâteynâhüm mil ledünnâ ecran `ażîmâ. | وإذا لآتيناهم من لدنا أجرا عظيما
وَإِذاً لَّآتَيْنَاهُم مِّن لَّدُنَّـا أَجْراً عَظِيمًا |

| Elmalılı | Ve o zaman elbette kendilerine katımızdan büyük mükafat verirdik. |
| Y. Ali | And We should then have given them from our presence a great reward;

| Words | |وإذا - And then| لآتيناهم - We would (have) given them| من - from| لدنا - Ourselves| أجرا - a reward,| عظيما - great.| |

[4:68] | velehedeynâhüm ṣirâṭam müsteḳîmâ. | ولهديناهم صراطا مستقيما
وَلَهَدَيْنَاهُمْ صِرَاطًا مُّسْتَقِيمًا |

| Elmalılı | Ve onları elbette doğru yola iletirdik. |
| Y. Ali | And We should have shown them the Straight Way.

| Words | |ولهديناهم - And We would have guided them| صراطا - (to the) way,| مستقيما - (the) straight.| |

[4:69] | vemey yüṭi`i-llâhe verrasûle feülâike me`a-lleẕîne en`ame-llâhü `aleyhim mine-nnebiyyîne veṣṣiddîḳîne veşşühedâi veṣṣâliḥîn. veḥasüne ülâike rafîḳâ. | ومن يطع الله والرسول فأولئك مع الذين أنعم الله عليهم من النبيين والصديقين والشهداء والصالحين وحسن أولئك رفيقا
وَمَن يُطِعِ اللّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ وَحَسُنَ أُولَـئِكَ رَفِيقًا |

| Elmalılı | Kim Allah'a ve Peygambere itaat ederse işte onlar, Allah'ın kendilerine nimet verdiği peygamberlerle, sıddıklarla, şehidlerle, iyilerle birliktedir. Bunlar ne güzel arkadaştır! |
| Y. Ali | All who obey Allah and the messenger are in the company of those on whom is the Grace of Allah,- of the prophets (who teach), the sincere (lovers of Truth), the witnesses (who testify), and the Righteous (who do good): Ah! what a beautiful fellowship!

| Words | |ومن - And whoever| يطع - obeys| الله - Allah| والرسول - and the Messenger| فأولئك - then those| مع - (will be) with| الذين - those whom| أنعم - has bestowed (His) Favor| الله - Allah| عليهم - upon them -| من - of| النبيين - the Prophets,| والصديقين - and the truthful,| والشهداء - and the martyrs,| والصالحين - and the righteous.| وحسن - And excellent| أولئك - (are) those| رفيقا - companion(s).| |

[4:70] | ẕâlike-lfaḍlü mine-llâh. vekefâ billâhi `alîmâ. | ذلك الفضل من الله وكفى بالله عليما
ذَلِكَ الْفَضْلُ مِنَ اللّهِ وَكَفَى بِاللّهِ عَلِيمًا |

| Elmalılı | Bu lütuf Allah'tandır. Bilen olarak Allah yeter. |
| Y. Ali | Such is the bounty from Allah: And sufficient is it that Allah knoweth all.

[4:71] | yâ eyyühe-lleẕîne âmenû ḫuẕû ḥiẕraküm fenfirû ŝübâtin evi-nfirû cemî`â. | يا أيها الذين آمنوا خذوا حذركم فانفروا ثبات أو انفروا جميعا
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ خُذُواْ حِذْرَكُمْ فَانْفِرُواْ ثُبَاتٍ أَوِ انْفِرُواْ جَمِيعًا |

| Elmalılı | Ey iman edenler! Düşmana karşı her türlü savunma tedbirinizi alınız. Onlara karşı ya küçük birlikler halinde hareket ediniz veya topyekün seferber olunuz. |
| Y. Ali | O ye who believe! Take your precautions, and either go forth in parties or go forth all together.

[4:72] | veinne minküm lemel leyübeṭṭienn. fein eṣâbetküm müṣîbetün ḳâle ḳad en`ame-llâhü `aleyye iẕ lem eküm me`ahüm şehîdâ. | وإن منكم لمن ليبطئن فإن أصابتكم مصيبة قال قد أنعم الله علي إذ لم أكن معهم شهيدا
وَإِنَّ مِنكُمْ لَمَن لَّيُبَطِّئَنَّ فَإِنْ أَصَابَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالَ قَدْ أَنْعَمَ اللّهُ عَلَيَّ إِذْ لَمْ أَكُن مَّعَهُمْ شَهِيدًا |

| Elmalılı | Şüphesiz içinizden bir kısmı vardır ki, pek ağır davranır. Eğer başınıza bir musibet gelirse: "Allah bana lutfetti de onlarla beraber bulunmadım." der. |
| Y. Ali | There are certainly among you men who would tarry behind: If a misfortune befalls you, they say: "Allah did favour us in that we were not present among them."

| Words | |وإن - And indeed,| منكم - among you| لمن - (is he) who| ليبطئن - lags behind| فإن - then if| أصابتكم - befalls you| مصيبة - a disaster| قال - he said,| قد - "Verily| أنعم - (has) favored| الله - Allah| علي - [on] me| إذ - [when]| لم - (that) not| أكن - I was| معهم - with them,| شهيدا - present."| |

[4:73] | velein eṣâbeküm faḍlüm mine-llâhi leyeḳûlenne keel lem teküm beyneküm vebeynehû meveddetüy yâ leytenî küntü me`ahüm feefûze fevzen `ażîmâ. | ولئن أصابكم فضل من الله ليقولن كأن لم تكن بينكم وبينه مودة يا ليتني كنت معهم فأفوز فوزا عظيما
وَلَئِنْ أَصَابَكُمْ فَضْلٌ مِّنَ الله لَيَقُولَنَّ كَأَن لَّمْ تَكُن بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُ مَوَدَّةٌ يَا لَيتَنِي كُنتُ مَعَهُمْ فَأَفُوزَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًا |

| Elmalılı | Ve eğer Allah'tan size bir lütuf ve zafer erişecek olsa, sizinle kendisi arasında hiç sevgi yokmuş gibi, bu sefer de hiç şüphesiz şöyle diyecek: "Ah ne olurdu, onlarla beraber olaydım da büyük murada ereydim." |
| Y. Ali | But if good fortune comes to you from Allah, they would be sure to say - as if there had never been Ties of affection between you and them - "Oh! I wish I had been with them; a fine thing should I then have made of it!"

I wish| كنت - I had been| معهم - with them| فأفوز - then I would have attained| فوزا - a success| عظيما - great."| |

[4:74] | felyüḳâtil fî sebîli-llâhi-lleẕîne yeşrûne-lḥayâte-ddünyâ bil'âḫirah. vemey yüḳâtil fî sebîli-llâhi feyuḳtel ev yaglib fesevfe nü'tîhi ecran `ażîmâ. | فليقاتل في سبيل الله الذين يشرون الحياة الدنيا بالآخرة ومن يقاتل في سبيل الله فيقتل أو يغلب فسوف نؤتيه أجرا عظيما
فَلْيُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ الَّذِينَ يَشْرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا بِالْآخِرَةِ وَمَن يُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ فَيُقْتَلْ أَو يَغْلِبْ فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا |

| Elmalılı | O halde geçici dünya hayatını, ebedî ahiret hayatı karşılığında satacak olanlar, Allah yolunda savaşsınlar. Her kim Allah yolunda savaşır da öldürülür veya galip gelirse, her iki durumda da biz ona yarın pek büyük bir mükafat vereceğiz. |
| Y. Ali | Let those fight in the cause of Allah Who sell the life of this world for the hereafter. To him who fighteth in the cause of Allah,- whether he is slain or gets victory - Soon shall We give him a reward of great (value).

[4:75] | vemâ leküm lâ tüḳâtilûne fî sebîli-llâhi velmüstaḍ`afîne mine-rricâli vennisâi velvildâni-lleẕîne yeḳûlûne rabbenâ aḫricnâ min hâẕihi-lḳaryeti-żżâlimi ehlühâ. vec`al lenâ mil ledünke veliyyâ. vec`al lenâ mil ledünke neṣîrâ. | وما لكم لا تقاتلون في سبيل الله والمستضعفين من الرجال والنساء والولدان الذين يقولون ربنا أخرجنا من هذه القرية الظالم أهلها واجعل لنا من لدنك وليا واجعل لنا من لدنك نصيرا
وَمَا لَكُمْ لاَ تُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ وَالْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاءِ وَالْوِلْدَانِ الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْ هَـذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ الظَّالِمِ أَهْلُهَا وَاجْعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّا وَاجْعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ نَصِيرًا |

| Elmalılı | Hem size ne oluyor ki, Allah yolunda: "Ey Rabbimiz! bizleri bu halkı zâlim olan memleketten çıkar, tarafından bizi iyi idare edecek bir sahip ve bize katından bir kurtarıcı gönder" diye yalvarıp duran zayıf ve zavallı erkekler, kadınlar ve çocukların kurtarılması uğrunda savaşa çıkmıyorsunuz? |
| Y. Ali | And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)?- Men, women, and children, whose cry is: "Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will protect; and raise for us from thee one who will help!"

[4:76] | elleẕîne âmenû yüḳâtilûne fî sebîli-llâh. velleẕîne keferû yüḳâtilûne fî sebîli-ṭṭâgûti feḳâtilû evliyâe-şşeyṭân. inne keyde-şşeyṭâni kâne ḍa`îfâ. | الذين آمنوا يقاتلون في سبيل الله والذين كفروا يقاتلون في سبيل الطاغوت فقاتلوا أولياء الشيطان إن كيد الشيطان كان ضعيفا
الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ الطَّاغُوتِ فَقَاتِلُواْ أَوْلِيَاءَ الشَّيْطَانِ إِنَّ كَيْدَ الشَّيْطَانِ كَانَ ضَعِيفًا |

| Elmalılı | İman edenler, Allah yolunda savaşırlar. İnkâr edenler de tağut yolunda savaşırlar. O halde siz şeytanın taraftarlarına karşı savaşın. Çünkü şeytanın hilesi zayıftır. |
| Y. Ali | Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who reject Faith Fight in the cause of Evil: So fight ye against the friends of Satan: feeble indeed is the cunning of Satan.

[4:77] | elem tera ile-lleẕîne ḳîle lehüm küffû eydiyeküm veeḳîmu-ṣṣalâte veâtü-zzekâh. felemmâ kütibe `aleyhimü-lḳitâlü iẕâ ferîḳum minhüm yaḫşevne-nnâse keḫaşyeti-llâhi ev eşedde ḫaşyeh. veḳâlû rabbenâ lime ketebte `aleyne-lḳitâl. levlâ eḫḫartenâ ilâ ecelin ḳarîb. ḳul metâ`u-ddünyâ ḳalîl. vel'âḫiratü ḫayrul limeni-tteḳâ velâ tużlemûne fetîlâ. | ألم تر إلى الذين قيل لهم كفوا أيديكم وأقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة فلما كتب عليهم القتال إذا فريق منهم يخشون الناس كخشية الله أو أشد خشية وقالوا ربنا لم كتبت علينا القتال لولا أخرتنا إلى أجل قريب قل متاع الدنيا قليل والآخرة خير لمن اتقى ولا تظلمون فتيلا
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ قِيلَ لَهُمْ كُفُّواْ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَقِيمُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتُواْ الزَّكَاةَ فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقِتَالُ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَخْشَوْنَ النَّاسَ كَخَشْيَةِ اللّهِ أَوْ أَشَدَّ خَشْيَةً وَقَالُواْ رَبَّنَا لِمَ كَتَبْتَ عَلَيْنَا الْقِتَالَ لَوْلاَ أَخَّرْتَنَا إِلَى أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ قُلْ مَتَاعُ الدُّنْيَا قَلِيلٌ وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنِ اتَّقَى وَلاَ تُظْلَمُونَ فَتِيلاً |

| Elmalılı | Kendilerine, "Ellerinizi savaştan çekin, namazı kılın, zekatı verin" denilenleri görmedin mi? Üzerlerine savaş yazılınca hemen içlerinden bir kısmı insanlardan, Allah'tan korkar gibi, hatta daha çok korkarlar ve "Rabbimiz! Niçin bize savaş yazdın? Ne olurdu bize azıcık bir müddet daha tanımış olsaydın da biraz daha yaşasaydık?" derler. Onlara de ki: "Dünya zevki ne de olsa azdır, ahiret, Allah'a karşı gelmekten sakınan için daha hayırlıdır ve size kıl kadar haksızlık edilmez." |
| Y. Ali | Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who were told to hold back their hands (from fight) but establish regular prayers and spend in regular charity? When (at length) the order for fighting was issued to them, behold! a section of them feared men as - or even more than - they should have feared Allah: They said: "Our Lord! Why hast Thou ordered us to fight? Wouldst Thou not Grant us respite to our (natural) term, near (enough)?" Say: "Short is the enjoyment of this world: the Hereafter is the best for those who do right: Never will ye be dealt with unjustly in the very least!

[4:78] | eyne mâ tekûnû yüdrikkümü-lmevtü velev küntüm fî bürûcim müşeyyedeh. vein tüṣibhüm ḥasenetüy yeḳûlû hâẕihî min `indi-llâh. vein tüṣibhüm seyyietüy yeḳûlû hâẕihî min `indik. ḳul küllüm min `indi-llâh. femâ lihâülâi-lḳavmi lâ yekâdûne yefḳahûne ḥadîŝâ. | أينما تكونوا يدرككم الموت ولو كنتم في بروج مشيدة وإن تصبهم حسنة يقولوا هذه من عند الله وإن تصبهم سيئة يقولوا هذه من عندك قل كل من عند الله فمال هؤلاء القوم لا يكادون يفقهون حديثا
أَيْنَمَا تَكُونُواْ يُدْرِككُّمُ الْمَوْتُ وَلَوْ كُنتُمْ فِي بُرُوجٍ مُّشَيَّدَةٍ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ حَسَنَةٌ يَقُولُواْ هَـذِهِ مِنْ عِندِ اللّهِ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَقُولُواْ هَـذِهِ مِنْ عِندِكَ قُلْ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ اللّهِ فَمَا لِهَـؤُلاَءِ الْقَوْمِ لاَ يَكَادُونَ يَفْقَهُونَ حَدِيثًا |

| Elmalılı | Her nerede olursanız olun ölüm size yetişir, son derece sağlam kaleler içinde de bulunsanız yine kurtulamazsınız. Onlara bir iyilik erişirse "Bu, Allahtandır" derler, bir kötülüğe uğrarlarsa, "Bu, senin yüzündendir." derler. Ey Muhammed! De ki: "Hepsi Allah'tandır." Bu topluma ne oluyor ki, hiç söz anlamaya yanaşmıyorlar? |
| Y. Ali | "Wherever ye are, death will find you out, even if ye are in towers built up strong and high!" If some good befalls them, they say, "This is from Allah"; but if evil, they say, "This is from thee" (O Prophet). Say: "All things are from Allah." But what hath come to these people, that they fail to understand a single fact?

19.
[4:79] | mâ eṣâbeke min ḥasenetin femine-llâh. vemâ eṣâbeke min seyyietin femin nefsik. veerselnâke linnâsi rasûlâ. vekefâ billâhi şehîdâ. | ما أصابك من حسنة فمن الله وما أصابك من سيئة فمن نفسك وأرسلناك للناس رسولا وكفى بالله شهيدا
مَّا أَصَابَكَ مِنْ حَسَنَةٍ فَمِنَ اللّهِ وَمَا أَصَابَكَ مِن سَيِّئَةٍ فَمِن نَّفْسِكَ وَأَرْسَلْنَاكَ لِلنَّاسِ رَسُولاً وَكَفَى بِاللّهِ شَهِيدًا |

| Elmalılı | (Ey insanoğlu!) sana gelen her iyilik Allah'tandır, sana ne kötülük dokunursa kendindendir. Ey Muhammed! Biz seni bütün insanlara bir elçi olarak gönderdik. Buna şahit olarak da Allah yeter. |
| Y. Ali | Whatever good, (O man!) happens to thee, is from Allah; but whatever evil happens to thee, is from thy (own) soul. and We have sent thee as a messenger to (instruct) mankind. And enough is Allah for a witness.

[4:80] | mey yüṭi`i-rrasûle feḳad eṭâ`a-llâh. vemen tevellâ femâ erselnâke `aleyhim ḥafîżâ. | من يطع الرسول فقد أطاع الله ومن تولى فما أرسلناك عليهم حفيظا
مَّنْ يُطِعِ الرَّسُولَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ اللّهَ وَمَن تَوَلَّى فَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا |

| Elmalılı | Kim peygambere itaat ederse Allah'a itaat etmiş olur. Kim de yüz çevirirse, biz seni onlara bekçi olarak göndermedik. |
| Y. Ali | He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah: But if any turn away, We have not sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds).

[4:81] | veyeḳûlûne ṭâ`ah. feiẕâ berazû min `indike beyyete ṭâifetüm minhüm gayra-lleẕî teḳûl. vellâhü yektübü mâ yübeyyitûn. fea`riḍ `anhüm vetevekkel `ale-llâh. vekefâ billâhi vekîlâ. | ويقولون طاعة فإذا برزوا من عندك بيت طائفة منهم غير الذي تقول والله يكتب ما يبيتون فأعرض عنهم وتوكل على الله وكفى بالله وكيلا
وَيَقُولُونَ طَاعَةٌ فَإِذَا بَرَزُواْ مِنْ عِندِكَ بَيَّتَ طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ غَيْرَ الَّذِي تَقُولُ وَاللّهُ يَكْتُبُ مَا يُبَيِّتُونَ فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللّهِ وَكَفَى بِاللّهِ وَكِيلاً |

| Elmalılı | Sana "Peki" derler, fakat senin yanından çıktıklarında, içlerinden birtakımı, geceleyin (gündüz) söylemiş olduklarının tersini kurarlar. Allah onların geceleyin tasarladıklarını yazıyor. Sen onlara aldırma. Allah'a güven. Vekil olarak Allah yeter. |
| Y. Ali | They have "Obedience" on their lips; but when they leave thee, a section of them Meditate all night on things very different from what thou tellest them. But Allah records their nightly (plots): So keep clear of them, and put thy trust in Allah, and enough is Allah as a disposer of affairs.

| Words | |ويقولون - And they say,| طاعة - "(We pledge) obedience."| فإذا - Then when| برزوا - they leave| من - from| عندك - you,| بيت - plan by night| طائفة - a group| منهم - of them| غير - other than| الذي - that which| تقول - you say.| والله - But Allah| يكتب - records| ما - what| يبيتون - they plan by night.| فأعرض - So turn (away)| عنهم - from them| وتوكل - and put (your) trust| على - in| الله - Allah.| وكفى - And sufficient| بالله - is Allah| وكيلا - (as) a Trustee.| |
22.
[4:82] | efelâ yetedebberûne-lḳur'ân. velev kâne min `indi gayri-llâhi levecedû fîhi-ḫtilâfen keŝîrâ. | أفلا يتدبرون القرآن ولو كان من عند غير الله لوجدوا فيه اختلافا كثيرا
أَفَلاَ يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْآنَ وَلَوْ كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ غَيْرِ اللّهِ لَوَجَدُواْ فِيهِ اخْتِلاَفًا كَثِيرًا |

| Elmalılı | Onlar hâlâ Kur'ân'ı gereği gibi düşünüp anlamaya çalışmazlar mı? Eğer o Allah'tan başkası tarafından indirilmiş olsaydı mutlaka onda birçok çelişkiler bulurlardı. |
| Y. Ali | Do they not consider the Qur'an (with care)? Had it been from other Than Allah, they would surely have found therein Much discrepancy.

23.
[4:83] | veiẕâ câehüm emrum mine-l'emni evi-lḫavfi eẕâ`û bih. velev raddûhü ile-rrasûli veilâ üli-l'emri minhüm le`alimehü-lleẕîne yestembiṭûnehû minhüm. velevlâ faḍlü-llâhi `aleyküm veraḥmetühû letteba`tümü-şşeyṭâne illâ ḳalîlâ. | وإذا جاءهم أمر من الأمن أو الخوف أذاعوا به ولو ردوه إلى الرسول وإلى أولي الأمر منهم لعلمه الذين يستنبطونه منهم ولولا فضل الله عليكم ورحمته لاتبعتم الشيطان إلا قليلا
وَإِذَا جَاءَهُمْ أَمْرٌ مِّنَ الْأَمْنِ أَوِ الْخَوْفِ أَذَاعُواْ بِهِ وَلَوْ رَدُّوهُ إِلَى الرَّسُولِ وَإِلَى أُوْلِي الْأَمْرِ مِنْهُمْ لَعَلِمَهُ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَنبِطُونَهُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَوْلاَ فَضْلُ اللّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ لاَتَّبَعْتُمُ الشَّيْطَانَ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً |

| Elmalılı | Kendilerine güven veya korku hususunda bir haber geldiğinde onu hemen yayıverirler. Halbuki onu peygambere ve aralarında yetkili kimselere götürselerdi, onlardan sonuç çıkarmaya gücü yetenler, onu anlarlardı. Allah'ın üzerinizdeki lütfu ve rahmeti olmasaydı, pek azınız hariç, şeytana uyardınız. |
| Y. Ali | When there comes to them some matter touching (Public) safety or fear, they divulge it. If they had only referred it to the Messenger, or to those charged with authority among them, the proper investigators would have Tested it from them (direct). Were it not for the Grace and Mercy of Allah unto you, all but a few of you would have fallen into the clutches of Satan.

24.
[4:84] | feḳâtil fî sebîli-llâh. lâ tükellefü illâ nefseke veḥarriḍi-lmü'minîn. `asa-llâhü ey yeküffe be'se-lleẕîne keferû. vellâhü eşeddü be'sev veeşeddü tenkîlâ. | فقاتل في سبيل الله لا تكلف إلا نفسك وحرض المؤمنين عسى الله أن يكف بأس الذين كفروا والله أشد بأسا وأشد تنكيلا
فَقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ لاَ تُكَلَّفُ إِلاَّ نَفْسَكَ وَحَرِّضِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَسَى اللّهُ أَن يَكُفَّ بَأْسَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَاللّهُ أَشَدُّ بَأْسًا وَأَشَدُّ تَنكِيلاً |

| Elmalılı | (Ey Muhammed) Allah yolunda savaş! Sen ancak kendi yaptığından sorumlusun. Müminleri de savaşa teşvik et. Umulur ki, Allah kâfirlerin gücünü kırar. Hiç şüphesiz ki Allah kuvvet ve kudretçe çok daha güçlü, ve cezası daha çetindir. |
| Y. Ali | Then fight in Allah's cause - Thou art held responsible only for thyself - and rouse the believers. It may be that Allah will restrain the fury of the Unbelievers; for Allah is the strongest in might and in punishment.

25.
[4:85] | mey yeşfa` şefâ`aten ḥasenetey yekül lehû neṣîbüm minhâ. vemey yeşfa` şefâ`aten seyyietey yekül lehû kiflüm minhâ. vekâne-llâhü `alâ külli şey'im müḳîtâ. | من يشفع شفاعة حسنة يكن له نصيب منها ومن يشفع شفاعة سيئة يكن له كفل منها وكان الله على كل شيء مقيتا
مَّن يَشْفَعْ شَفَاعَةً حَسَنَةً يَكُن لَّهُ نَصِيبٌ مِّنْهَا وَمَن يَشْفَعْ شَفَاعَةً سَيِّئَةً يَكُن لَّهُ كِفْلٌ مِّنْهَا وَكَانَ اللّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُّقِيتًا |

| Elmalılı | Kim güzel bir işte aracılık ederse, ona o işin sevabından bir pay vardır. Kim de kötü bir şeyde aracılık yaparsa, ona da o kötülükten bir pay vardır. Allah her şeyi gözetip karşılığını verir. |
| Y. Ali | Whoever recommends and helps a good cause becomes a partner therein: And whoever recommends and helps an evil cause, shares in its burden: And Allah hath power over all things.

26.
[4:86] | veiẕâ ḥuyyîtüm biteḥiyyetin feḥayyû biaḥsene minhâ ev ruddûhâ. inne-llâhe kâne `alâ külli şey'in ḥasîbâ. | وإذا حييتم بتحية فحيوا بأحسن منها أو ردوها إن الله كان على كل شيء حسيبا
وَإِذَا حُيِّيْتُم بِتَحِيَّةٍ فَحَيُّواْ بِأَحْسَنَ مِنْهَا أَوْ رُدُّوهَا إِنَّ اللّهَ كَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَسِيبًا |

| Elmalılı | Siz bir selam ile selamlandığınız zaman, siz de ondan daha güzeliyle karşılık verin veya verilen selamı aynen iade edin. Şüphesiz Allah, her şeyin hesabını gereği gibi yapandır. |
| Y. Ali | When a (courteous) greeting is offered you, meet it with a greeting still more courteous, or (at least) of equal courtesy. Allah takes careful account of all things.

| Words | |وإذا - And when| حييتم - you are greeted| بتحية - with a greeting,| فحيوا - then greet| بأحسن - with better| منها - than it| أو - or| ردوها - return it.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| كان - is| على - of| كل - every| شيء - thing| حسيبا - an Accountant.| |
27.
[4:87] | allâhü lâ ilâhe illâ hû. leyecme`anneküm ilâ yevmi-lḳiyâmeti lâ raybe fîh. vemen aṣdeḳu mine-llâhi ḥadîŝâ. | الله لا إله إلا هو ليجمعنكم إلى يوم القيامة لا ريب فيه ومن أصدق من الله حديثا
اللّهُ لاَ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لاَ رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَمَنْ أَصْدَقُ مِنَ اللّهِ حَدِيثًا |

| Elmalılı | Kendinden başka ilâh olmayan Allah, sizi kıyamet gününde mutlaka biraraya toplayacaktır. Bunda asla şüphe yoktur. Allah'tan daha doğru sözlü kim olabilir? |
| Y. Ali | Allah! There is no god but He: of a surety He will gather you together against the Day of Judgment, about which there is no doubt. And whose word can be truer than Allah's?

28.
[4:88] | femâ leküm fi-lmünâfiḳîne fieteyni vellâhü erkesehüm bimâ kesebû. etürîdûne en tehdû men eḍalle-llâh. vemey yuḍlili-llâhü felen tecide lehû sebîlâ. | فما لكم في المنافقين فئتين والله أركسهم بما كسبوا أتريدون أن تهدوا من أضل الله ومن يضلل الله فلن تجد له سبيلا
فَمَا لَكُمْ فِي الْمُنَافِقِينَ فِئَتَيْنِ وَاللّهُ أَرْكَسَهُم بِمَا كَسَبُواْ أَتُرِيدُونَ أَن تَهْدُواْ مَنْ أَضَلَّ اللّهُ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ اللّهُ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُ سَبِيلاً |

| Elmalılı | O halde, siz niçin münafıklar hakkında iki gruba ayrılıyorsunuz? Allah onları kazandıkları günah yüzünden terslerine döndürdüğü halde Allah'ın saptırdığını yola getirmek mi istiyorsunuz? Allah kimi saptırırsa, sen onun için bir çıkış yolu bulamazsın. |
| Y. Ali | Why should ye be divided into two parties about the Hypocrites? Allah hath upset them for their (evil) deeds. Would ye guide those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way? For those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way, never shalt thou find the Way.

29.
[4:89] | veddû lev tekfürûne kemâ keferû fetekûnûne sevâen felâ tetteḫiẕû minhüm evliyâe ḥattâ yühâcirû fî sebîli-llâh. fein tevellev feḫuẕûhüm vaḳtülûhüm ḥayŝü vecettümûhüm. velâ tetteḫiẕû minhüm veliyyev velâ neṣîrâ. | ودوا لو تكفرون كما كفروا فتكونون سواء فلا تتخذوا منهم أولياء حتى يهاجروا في سبيل الله فإن تولوا فخذوهم واقتلوهم حيث وجدتموهم ولا تتخذوا منهم وليا ولا نصيرا
وَدُّواْ لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ كَمَا كَفَرُواْ فَتَكُونُونَ سَوَاءً فَلاَ تَتَّخِذُواْ مِنْهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءَ حَتَّى يُهَاجِرُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَخُذُوهُمْ وَاقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ وَجَدتُّمُوهُمْ وَلاَ تَتَّخِذُواْ مِنْهُمْ وَلِيًّا وَلاَ نَصِيرًا |

| Elmalılı | Onlar, küfür işledikleri gibi, sizin de küfür işleyip kendileriyle bir olmanızı arzu ettiler. Onun için, onlar Allah yolunda hicret edinceye kadar içlerinden dost edinmeyin. Eğer bundan yüz çevirirlerse onları yakalayın ve bulduğunuz yerde öldürün; Onlardan ne bir dost, ne de bir yardımcı edinmeyin. |

Ali | They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks;-

[4:90] | ille-lleẕîne yeṣilûne ilâ ḳavmim beyneküm vebeynehüm mîŝâḳun ev câûküm ḥaṣirat ṣudûruhüm ey yüḳâtilûküm ev yüḳâtilû ḳavmehüm. velev şâe-llâhü leselleṭahüm `aleyküm feleḳâtelûküm. feini-`tezelûküm felem yüḳâtilûküm veelḳav ileykümü-sseleme femâ ce`ale-llâhü leküm `aleyhim sebîlâ. | إلا الذين يصلون إلى قوم بينكم وبينهم ميثاق أو جاءوكم حصرت صدورهم أن يقاتلوكم أو يقاتلوا قومهم ولو شاء الله لسلطهم عليكم فلقاتلوكم فإن اعتزلوكم فلم يقاتلوكم وألقوا إليكم السلم فما جعل الله لكم عليهم سبيلا
إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ إِلَى قَوْمٍ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُم مِّيثَاقٌ أَوْ جَآؤُوكُمْ حَصِرَتْ صُدُورُهُمْ أَن يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ أَوْ يُقَاتِلُواْ قَوْمَهُمْ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللّهُ لَسَلَّطَهُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ فَلَقَاتَلُوكُمْ فَإِنِ اعْتَزَلُوكُمْ فَلَمْ يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ وَأَلْقَوْاْ إِلَيْكُمُ السَّلَمَ فَمَا جَعَلَ اللّهُ لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ سَبِيلاً |

| Elmalılı | Ancak o kimselere dokunmayın ki, sizinle aralarında anlaşma olan bir kavme sığınmış bulunurlar. Yahut ne sizinle, ne de kendi kavimleriyle savaşmayı gönüllerine sığdıramayıp tarafsız olarak size gelmişlerdir. Eğer Allah dileseydi, onları size musallat kılardı, onlar da sizinle savaşırlardı. Eğer onlar sizden uzak dururlar, sizinle savaşmayıp size barış teklif ederlerse, Allah, sizin için onlar aleyhine bir yol vermemiştir. |
| Y. Ali | Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. If Allah had pleased, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you: Therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (Guarantees of) peace, then Allah Hath opened no way for you (to war against them).
